Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor's daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, is a well-known jewellery designer. Riddhima is married to Delhi-based businessman, Bharat Sahni, and they have a daughter, Samara Sahni. Despite being a part of the filmy family, Riddhima never ventured into acting and continued to stay away from the media glares.
Jewellery designer, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni disclosed that her entire family faced severe trolling following the death of her father, legendary actor, Rishi Kapoor. She mentioned that they were judged for appearing in public after his passing. Faced with frequent trolling, Neetu Kapoor also revealed that she was initially hesitant to return to work after the passing of her husband, Rishi Kapoor.
In an interview with Galatta India about Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives Season 3, Riddhima spoke about the criticism they faced whenever they seemed happy in photographs or public appearances after the death of Rishi Kapoor. Riddhima revealed that the family did their best to appear calm in public while they navigated the challenging process of coming to terms with the fact that Rishi Kapoor had passed away. She revealed that many people assumed that they were unaffected by their attempt to hide their grief in public, which led to misunderstandings.
Riddhima remarked about how insensitive the trolls were, pointing out that they would make remarks about their looks, such as 'they looked happy and were going out.' But she made it clear that they should see what happened when they got home. In her words:
“People used to say to us, ‘Oh, they look so happy, and they are going out, and they are doing this.’ But you have to come home and see what happens.”
Riddhima said it was extremely hard to accept that her father was no longer with her. In response to the charges of privilege, Riddhima noted that although people frequently assert that certain people are privileged and have it all, they neglect to take into account the insecurities that other people might be going through. She said:
"People say so and so are privileged, so and so have everything; not necessarily how do you know the insecurity the other person is facing?”
Riddhima was adamant that although the family may appear to be harmonious on the outside, it was engulfed in unspeakable suffering and sorrow inside the four walls. She noted that the family would prefer not to express their feelings publicly and that a number of people misinterpreted this choice. Many comments were made by people who were unaware of Neetu's personal struggles despite the fact that she had maintained such a strong attitude. Riddhima expressed her pride in her mother's resilience during these difficult moments by stating that Neetu's courage enabled the family to move past it.
According to Riddhima, the family was closer after her father passed away because they didn't share their grief with one another, which would have made each other's suffering worse. The Kapoors' strength derived from their solidarity and ability to support one another through adversity.
