To mark Rishi Kapoor's 69th birth anniversary, his daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni penned a heartmelting note along with a throwback picture with him.
Son of Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor had made his Bollywood debut in the film, Mera Naam Joker, for which he had won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist. Later on, he went on to become the quintessential chocolate boy of Bollywood with the teen romantic film, Bobby. He had charmed everyone with his smile and became the 'dream man' of every girl.
The handsome actor was bowled over by the gorgeous Neetu Singh and got married to her. On April 30, 2020, the veteran actor had bid adieu to his loved ones and had left for the heavenly abode. The 68-year-old-actor was fighting cancer and had freed himself from all the pains, leaving a huge vacuum in the lives of friends, fans and family.

September 4, 2021, marks the 69th birth anniversary of Rishi Kapoor and his daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, penned a heartmelting wish for her late father. Taking a trip down the memory lane, Riddhima posted an unseen throwback picture with her papa, where the father-daughter duo strikes an uncanny resemblance.
She captioned the picture as "Hi Papa… We celebrate you everyday! We miss you & we love you! Heaven’s brightest shining star! Happy birthday! Love you to the stars & beyond… Always… forever Mushk." Riddhima also shared a picture of Rishi kissing his granddaughter, Samara Sahni, with a series of heart emoticons.
On the other hand, Neetu Kapoor penned an emotional wish to her 'Kapoor saab' and revealed what all she learnt from him during their last few traumatic years. Sharing an adorable picture with him, Neetu wrote, "I learnt a lot from Rishi Ji during our last few traumatic years in NYC... how we celebrated when his blood counts were high... we dined shopped laughed .. in his lows we just stayed home watched tv ordered in amazing food n still had some wonderful moments in hope that the next round of chemotherapy he would be better .. hope n being strong is what he taught me .. value each day... we all miss him today !!! I can picture him how excited he would have been for his 69th birthday !! I’m sure he is celebrating with his family up there. Happy birthday Kapoor Saab."
A few moments back, Riddhima unveiled the poster of Rishi Kapoor's last movie, Sharmaji Namkeen, which couldn't get complete. Sharing first look of the poster, Riddhima wrote, "We are proud to present, the poster of a very special film- Sharmaji Namkeen, starring one of the most celebrated actors in the Hindi film industry whose inimitable work and sparkling career we will cherish forever, Mr. Rishi Kapoor. As a mark of love, respect and remembrance of him and as a gift to his millions of fans, here is the first look of his final film."
She further thanked actor, Paresh Rawal for stepping in to complete the film after her father, Rishi Kapoor's death and continued, "A big thank you to Mr. Paresh Rawal, who completed the film by agreeing to take the sensitive step of portraying the same character played by Rishi-ji. Produced by Excel Entertainment and Macguffin Pictures, directed by debutant Hitesh Bhatia, this film is a light-hearted coming-of-age story of a lovable 60-year-old-man."
A day before Rishi Kapoor's 69th birth anniversary, his wife, Neetu Kapoor, had taken to her IG stories and had posted a picture of her late husband from one of his movies. In the picture, Rishi was seen delivering a line which translated to "A strong gust of wind ruined everything." Remembering her late husband, Neetu had written, "Just one of those days" atop the picture.

Riddhima couldn’t attend her father’s funeral due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She had penned an emotional eulogy for her papa. She had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared a selfie with Rishi and had written, “Papa I love you I will always love you - RIP my strongest warrior I will miss you everyday I will miss your FaceTime calls everyday! I wish I could be there to say goodbye to you! Until we meet again papa I love you - your Mushk forever.”
If there was someone, who had stood by Rishi Kapoor like a rock throughout his treatment, then it was his wife, Neetu Kapoor. Taking care of him just like a mother, Neetu was his strongest pillar. After his death, on May 2, 2020, Neetu had shared an emotional farewell post for him. She had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared a picture of Rishi with a drink in his hand, posing for the camera with his enchanting smile. She had captioned the picture as “End of our story.”
