However, she is no stranger to fame, having been born into one of Bollywood's most renowned families, the Kapoor clan. Yes, Riddhima is the daughter of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor and the sister of Ranbir Kapoor. While many criticize the Kapoors for having opportunities and privileges that they might not be worthy of, they have faced their share of struggles in life. Recently, Riddhima opened up about the trying time when her father passed away after battling a long illness and revealed his final two wishes.
For the unversed, Rishi Kapoor had battled leukemia for nearly two years before passing away in 2020. Well, his daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, sat down for a recent interview with Zoom and opened up about his final two wishes, both fulfilled after his passing. . One of Rishi's final wishes was to see his son, Ranbir Kapoor, get married, while the other was for their house in Bandra to be completed. In Riddhima's words:
"His last two wishes were getting Ranbir married and getting the house ready. So house is almost ready, Ranbir is married. It was very very emotional for us. I really wish he was here with us but I guess god had other plans."
Ranbir had been dating his now-wife, actress, Alia Bhatt, at the time of Rishi's passing. The pair tied the knot two years later in 2022. As for the Kapoors' Bandra house, it has been under construction for a couple of years now and is on the verge of completion.
In the same conversation, Riddhima Kapoor elaborated on how her wedding differed from her brother, Ranbir Kapoor's. She stated that her father, Rishi, had thrown a grand wedding for her and her husband , Bharat Sahni.
However, her brother, Ranbir, and his wife, Alia, decided to do things differently. The pair opted for an intimate wedding on their balcony. In Riddhima's words:
"I had a really big wedding so I didn't have a good time at my wedding at all. My dad wanted to have the biggest wedding, which he did. So Ranbir was like, 'you know what, we have had a big wedding in the family so this time…' And he is a very simple guy. So they were like to do it very small.
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni then opened up about the thoughts running in Ranbir and Alia's minds as they planned their intimate wedding. She revealed:
"They said we just want people who matter to us, people who we are in touch with every single day and we want to have a good time ourselves and they did. Both of them were beaming with joy. They have thoroughly enjoyed their wedding and they met everyone, spent time with everyone."
