Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Ranbir Kapoor are undergoing the same emotions as they are mourning the death of their father, Rishi Kapoor. April 30, 2020, the nation had woken up to the shocking news of veteran actor, Rishi Kapoor’s death. Sadly, the news came at the time when the entire nation was observing lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic, and Rishi ji’s daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni couldn’t attend her father’s last rites. While we are still not able to come in terms of Rishi ji’s death, but for his family, it is a harsh reality which they have to accept. Nearly, 50 years of an active film career, Rishi Kapoor had always believed in hard work and staying true to one’s craft. With the film Bobby, Rishi ji had won the tag of a quintessential romantic hero, and his last film The Body had given a glimpse of his effortless acting. While the entire nation is mourning the loss of Rishi Kapoor, it is his daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who has been posting throwback pictures of her late father.
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who lives in Delhi had reached Mumbai to be with her mother, Neetu Kapoor and brother, Ranbir Kapoor. While she has been posting throwback pictures of her papa, on May 7, 2020, the doting daughter shared an adorable picture with a heart-melting note for her mother. She took to her Instagram stories and shared a throwback selfie in which Neetu Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor were smiling for the camera. Along with the picture, she wrote an emotional caption which can be read as “Got your back Ma #yourpillars” atop it.
On May 5, 2020, Riddhima had taken to her Instagram story and had shared an unseen picture from her father's life. She had posted an Instagram story of Rishi Kapoor with his mother, Krishna Raj Kapoor, and had captioned it as "Reunited with his most favourite person." Though Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and her husband, Bharat Sahni were not able to attend the funeral of Rishi ji, the two had penned soulful eulogies for their demised father, Rishi Kapoor. On May 1, 2020, Bharat had posted some memories with his father-in-law and had captioned them as “Will never forget the love you gave me. You taught me so much in the little time I had with you. Simply broken today. Lost for words. Love you and will miss you a lot. R.I.P. Papa”
Riddhima had also captioned her selfie with her father as “Papa I love you I will always love you - RIP my strongest warrior I will miss you everyday I will miss your FaceTime calls everyday! I wish I could be there to say goodbye to you! Until we meet again papa I love you - your Mushk forever.” Riddhima had also posted an Insta story while travelling from Delhi to Mumbai, and had written, “Driving home ma. Enroute to Mumbai.”
In an acknowledgment post for the doctors of the Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, Neetu Kapoor had penned a note thanking them from the bottom of her heart. Sharing a monochrome portrait of Rishi Kapoor and one with her in the frame, Neetu ji had written, “As a family, we have a deep sense of loss… when we sit together and look back at the past few months what we also feel is immense gratitude - gratitude towards the doctors at HN reliance hospital!
