A few months after her separation with now-estranged husband, Raqesh Bapat, Ridhi Dogra poured her heart out about how life is treating her since then and if she will give love a second chance or not. In an interview with The Times of India, revealing how life has changed after separation, Ridhi shared, “Life has changed completely. Seven years is not a short time. We had pets. We had a family together. It has all disintegrated. But there is no bad blood or sadness. Raaq (her nickname for Raqesh) and I separated on very good terms. It is extremely important for us that we value each other as human beings. The dignity and grace that I deserve, he deserves as well. He is welcome to come over to my house whenever he is in Mumbai. In fact, he has to come and meet me whenever he is visiting Mumbai! We have the same set of friends.”
Even though Ridhi Dogra and Raqesh Bapat are not husband and wife anymore, she said that they are and will continue to remain ‘friends forever’. Ridhi added, “I know it’s hard for people to understand how two people can be so chilled out after separating. It wasn’t easy for us. But people can be incompatible; they can grow apart. It’s easy to choose anger and give in to ego. Both of us just wanted to rise above all this. We are there for each other as friends. Whatever he does in his life, wherever he goes, I’d be very happy for him. We all have people with whom we sort of lose touch but still remain friends. I don’t know about losing touch with Raaq, but I’ll definitely be his friend forever. We both got into it (relationship) together and we both got out of it together.” (Also Read: Smriti Khanna Confirms Her Pregnancy And Expresses The Feeling Of Baby's First Kick In Her Belly)
When asked if she will give love and marriage a second chance, Ridhi Dogra retorted, “I can’t go out looking for love. It will happen when it has to happen. Right now, I am happy focusing on my work. A lot of opportunities have opened up for me as an actor. At the moment, I would like to keep my focus on that.”
Ridhi Dogra concluded with a piece of advice for couples, who are going through a rough phase in their relationships, “It’s easier said than done. Everybody has his or her own journey. But I think in relationships, people should generally be more accepting of each other. Sometimes, we are nice to the whole world but we tend to forget the people who are closest to us. I am saying all this because I have done a lot of meditation, vipassana and have gone on a spiritual journey, which helped me understand my mind better and things like attachment, detachment, expectations and so on.”
