Famous Indian cricketer, Rinku Singh reportedly got engaged to Samajwadi Party MP, Priya Saroj. Read on to know more!
Indian cricketer, Rinku Singh seems to be joining the marital club, as reports of his marriage have been making rounds on the internet. Several news reports claimed he recently got engaged with a Member of Parlianment from the Samajwadi Party. However, let us inform you that no official statement has been made about the happy news.
According to a News 24 report, Rinku Singh got engaged to Priya Saroj and they will soon get married. However, the dates have not yet been decided. For the unversed, Rinku, who shares a great bond with Shah Rukh Khan, the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, asked him about his wedding plans and promised that he would attend and dance at his wedding.
For the unversed, Priya Saroj is a Samajwadi Party MP from Machhali Shahar in Uttar Pradesh. She is the daughter of three-time elected MP and MLA, Tufani Saroj. Before entering politics, she was a lawyer. It was in 2024 that Priya won the Lok Sabha election and defeated BJP candidate BP Saroj by a huge margin.
Priya Saroj is the second-youngest candidate to be elected to the lower house of Parliament. Talking about her educational background, she holds a BA degree from the University of Delhi and an LLB from Amity University, Noida.
The KKR's star player, Rinku, hails from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to a working-class family. He has five siblings and he is a third child of his parents. Talking about his father, Khanchandra used to work as an LPG cylinder delivery man while his mother, Bina Devi is a housewife. Rinku lived in a 2-room quarter in the stockyard provided by the cylinder company.
Not many know that Rinku was offered the job of a sweeper in a coaching center, where his elder brother used to work. However, Rinki said no and told his family that cricket would take him places. In an interview with KKR, he revealed that he had refused to do sweeping or mopping as he didn't liked it. He said:
"When I was just starting out and had yet to play proper cricket, I was asked to join my brother for a job. I got a job of sweeping and mopping in a coaching centre. I refused because I didn't like the work."
