Riteish Deshmukh is a doting father, an adorable husband, and a dutiful son. In a recent media interaction, Riteish opened up on his desire of making a biopic on his late father, Vilasrao Deshmukh.
“A father is his son’s first hero and his daughter’s first love.” We have often spoken at lengths about the bond between a father and a daughter but have rarely noticed that sons also share a sense of comfort within their fathers. The unspoken rapport that a father and a son share is mostly not given much weightage. The relationship is often taken for granted between the two is much more than that. It is only a father, who can set an example of himself and expect his son to follow his footsteps. In the year 2012, Riteish Deshmukh had lost the most important part of his heart, his father, Vilasrao Deshmukh as he was battling liver cancer. The entire nation was shell shocked by the sudden death of the chief minister of Maharashtra. The entire Deshmukh family had shattered into pieces when they had lost one of the most important members on August 14, 2012, and the vacuum in their family is still felt on many occasions. Recently, Riteish opened up about making a biopic on his late father, Vilasrao Deshmukh someday.
In a media interaction at the promotional event of Baaghi 3, Riteish Deshmukh stated that he hopes to make a biopic on his late father, Vilasrao Deshmukh and is waiting for the right script. He said, “It is one of those miraculous journeys of a human being. He started off as a sarpanch (head of Gram Sabha) and went on to become Chief Minister of a state. Many a time, people have written scripts about his life and asked me to make a film but it is not easy.”
He further added, “When a subject is so close to your heart then you forget objectivity. Just suppose, I make a film on his life and people say I have shown only the good things about him and not shown the other side of his life. If somebody else makes it, then I will say, ‘he wasn’t like this, he never used to talk like this and certain things never happened in his life’. So, there will always be difference in opinions when you make films on such subjects.” (Also Read: Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya And Vivek Dahiya Shift To Their New Lavish 4BHK Apartment, Details Inside)
We have seen how Riteish’s wife, Genelia often shares heart-melting posts for her family members on their special days. On August 14, 2019, Genelia had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted pictures from the remembrance ceremony of her father-in-law, Vilasrao Deshmukh. Along with the pictures, she had written, “Miss you Pappa every single day."
In a 2013 interview with the DNA, Ritiesh had talked about coping with the huge loss. He had shared, "I don’t know how to answer that. It’s an irreparable loss. You can’t compare it to anything. It’s really strange that suddenly a person is not there in your life and then you realise — I won’t say value because as a child you always value your parents — how life will never be the same again. There is a huge void. Sometimes I still feel he is there."
In the same interview, Ritiesh had revealed how Genelia had been his pillar of support in that horrible time. He had stated, "Genelia. Not because I am married to her. That is irrespective but eventually, she is my strength, my support. To have someone who understands when you like to talk, and when you don’t, is incredible. I don’t like to talk about. I don’t talk. So even for her to sit next to me and share that silence was helpful. I value the silences more than the chats."
