Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani was released in theatres on July 28, 2023. Filmmaker, Karan Johar made his comeback as a director after a long wait of 7 years. His last directorial was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which was released back in 2016. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was a romantic drama, which was centered around a couple.
However, Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is more of a family entertainer with, of course, some spotlight on Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s love story. In order to give an idea to someone, who hasn’t watched the film, it is quite close to what 2 States was. As per early reviews, the film is a complete entertainer, and even after years of absence from the director’s chair, Karan Johar proved that he still has that magic which is required in family dramas.
