Rohit Bal, Famous Fashion Designer, Dies At 63, A Day After Diwali, He Had Critical Heart Condition

Famous fashion designer and a founding member of FDCI, Rohit Bal, passed away just a day after Diwali, and the entire nation is in shock.

Rohit Bal was a legendary fashion designer known for bringing charm and modernisation to Indian wear. He was also famous for bringing Kashmiri heritage to his work of art and countless outfits. At the young age of just 19, Rohit Bal designed his first outfit. After so many successful shows, and changing the way the world sees Indian outfits, Rohit  Bal left for the heavenly abode.

Rohit Bal passed away at the age of 63

Rohit Bal was also a founding member of FDCI. On November 1, 2024, the official Instagram page of FDCI shared the news of Rohit Bal's death. It comes as a shock to the entire nation. The post revealed how he was a legendary designer and his legacy would live on in the fashion world.

However, the cause of Rohit Bal's death was not revealed in the post. But it left all the people in immense shock. The post can be read as:

"We mourn the passing of Legendary designer Rohit Bal. He was a founding member of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). Known for his unique blend of traditional patterns with modern sensibilities, Bal’s work redefined Indian fashion, and inspired generations. His legacy of artistry, and innovation along with forward thinking will live on in the fashion world. Rest in peace GUDDA."

Rohit Bal suffered a critical heart condition last year

For the unversed, last year, Rohit Bal suffered a heart condition, and was hospitalised for the same. He had an alarming episode of being unconscious and was immediately admitted to the ICU, and was placed on a ventilator. However, by God's grace, he was able to recover. According to reports, he had suffered a cardiac arrest in 2010. 

Rohit Bal returned to ramp in October 2024 with his last collection Kaaynaat 

Rohit Bal showed the world that everything is possible if you have a will to do it. His love for fashion gave him life again, and within a few months, he made a striking return to the runway during Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI's Grand Finale. He named his last collection Kaaynaat, which means nature in English.
