Team India's captain, Rohit Sharma shared his views on Virat Kohli's health after Axar Patel and took a dig at Anushka Sharma's 'sickness' Instagram post about her husband's health.
Once again, when it looked like the Indian cricket team was on the cusp of a defeat against Australia in the final match of the four-match Test series, it was Virat Kohli’s cracking innings that changed everything. The Indian cricketer made 186 runs, which came as a huge relief not just to his billion fans but even to Virat, as he was craving a century in a Test match for a very long time. The entire nation was celebrating Virat’s amazing innings that played a crucial role in making India the worthy winner of the Test series by 2-1 after he managed to draw the final match.
Virat Kohli’s actress-wife, Anushka Sharma also celebrated her husband’s much-awaited century in the Test format. The doting wife took to her Instagram handle and shared a video of the cricketer celebrating his century. Atop the video, Anushka penned a short note in which she revealed that Virat played through sickness and praised him for always inspiring her with his dedication and discipline. The revelation soon became a talking point on the internet as people started lauding Virat for making the highest Test score against Australia despite battling through sickness.

In a press conference after the fourth Test match in Ahmedabad, Rohit Sharma was asked about Virat Kohli’s health and the speculations on the internet that he played through sickness. In response to the same, Rohit clearly denied the possibility of Virat being sick. The Indian captain stated that Virat was only coughing and there was nothing serious about his health. Rohit reportedly took a dig at Anushka’s IG story that started the whole debate around Virat’s health and advised people not to believe in everything on social media. He said:
"Don't believe what you see on social media. Don't think Virat was sick, just that he was coughing a bit, but I don't think it's that bad health wise."
As soon as Rohit Sharma’s statements made their way to the internet and news channels, several netizens expressed their anger towards the cricketer. Most of the people slammed the skipper for his comment, ‘Don't believe what you see on social media’, as they believed that it was a clear response to Anushka Sharma’s IG story about Virat’s health, while one user wrote, “Arre Kohli fit aadmi hain, uske leye itna bhi sickness hain, Rohit bhai NCA mein itna time bitate hain, kaisey samjhenge”. Well, Rohit Sharma wasn’t the only player, who shared his views on Virat Kohli’s sickness controversy, as Axar Patel also opened up about the same. The cricketer admitted that considering Virat’s activity in training and performance in the match, it didn’t look like he was going through any sickness. He said:
"I don't know (if Kohli was not keeping well). The way he was running, it didn't look like he was sick with the way he built that partnership, in this heat and the way he ran... It was good to have that stand with him."
