Team India so adorably took away our Monday blues with their glorious win last night at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. While the first half of the match gave a 'one-sided' game feeling, New Zealand's top-notch bowling and rocket-speeded fielding left the Indians biting their nails. Well, India gave a shoulder-to-shoulder fight to their opponent team, and Rohit Sharma led team Blue created history once again after 12 years.
While everyone was glued to their seats with the high-voltage cricket match, a buzz left people worried, which was about Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's retirement. Moreover, Rohit cleared the air about the same. At first, when Jadeja struck the winning shot, Virat and Rohit ran to the field to celebrate their big win. They were seen doing Bhangra with wickets, which left people in awe.
Well, a short clip also went viral, wherein Rohit's unfiltered reaction to his and Kohli's retirement buzz left the latter in splits. Looking at the cameras, while holding Virat close, Rohit said there is no plan for their retirement yet. The way he said it left Virat giggling. Rohit was heard saying:
"Abhi ham koi retire nahi ho rahe. ******* inko toh lag raha hai."
After India's win at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Rohit Sharma sat for an interaction with the media. He also addressed the buzz about his retirement. He said that he and Kohli won't retire from the ODI format, and he is clarifying this for the sake to put an end to any kind of speculations. He further remarked that nothing is fixed or planned for the future, and whatever will happen will be seen. Rohit can be quoted as saying:
"I am not going to retire from this (ODI) format. Going forward, please don't spread rumours. No future plans. Jo ho raha hain, woh chalta jayega."
He mentioned that some former cricketers have a hunger for cricket too much even though they have played a lot of cricket, and this is what has been rubbed down on the younger players. Rohit stated that there are several real stalwarts to back them, and it makes the job easier for them. In Rohit's words:
"There is a lot of hunger even in guys who have played a lot of cricket and it rubs down on even the younger players. We have five to six players who are real stalwarts. It makes the job easier for all of us."
