Rubina Dilaik On Her And Abhinav Shukla's Decision To Raise Kids Outside Mumbai, 'Woh Mitti Mein..'

Recently, actress, Rubina Dilaik opened up about her and Abhinav Shukla's decision to raise their daughters away from Mumbai in Himachal Pradesh, elaborating on their reasons for the same.

Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla are one of TV's most popular off-screen couples, with countless fans rooting for their happiness. The duo welcomed their beautiful twin girls, Jeeva and Edhaa, on November 27, 2023, and with that, they were all set to embark on their parenthood journey. Rubina and Abhinav may have become parents just a year ago, but it is evident that they gave this new phase of life a lot of thought. Recently, the actress opened up about her and Abhinav's decision to raise their baby girls away from Mumbai on their farm in Himachal Pradesh.

Rubina Dilaik reveals why she and Abhinav Shukla are raising their daughters in Himachal Pradesh and not Mumbai

Actress, Rubina Dilaik recently sat for a candid chat with Paras Chhabra on his podcast, during which she opened up about her and Abhinav Shukla's decision to raise their kids at their farmhouse in Himachal Pradesh. Revealing how much thought went into their decision to let their daughters grow up outside Mumbai, Rubina said:

"Jab hum family plan kar rahe the aur jab bhi hum apne bachon ki ya family ki baat karte the, tab hum dono hi bahut mindful the ki hume bache kis mahaul mein paalne hai. So iss thought process mein humara kabhi bhi friction nahi raha hai. We both were on the same page."

Rubina further went on to lay down the ideal environment she and Abhinav had in mind when it came to raising their kids. Talking about how they wanted their baby girls to have a humble upbringing, Rubina said:

"Hume unhe saaf environment dena hai. Woh mitti mein khele, wo ek humble background mein palle badhe, woh jitna ho sake gaon se jude rahe aur unhe khud ki kheti se ugaya hua khana mile."

Rubina Dilaik gushes about being a 'pahadan' and having the luxury of raising her kids amid orchards and farmlands

Further in the interview, Rubina Dilaik elaborated on their family setup in Himachal Pradesh, revealing that they lived in a joint family system, including Abhinav, his parents, Rubina, her parents, her dadaji, and, of course, the apple of everyone's eyes, Edhaa and Jeeva. The actress noted that living in a joint family, albeit less common now, was important to them as they wanted their daughters to learn the importance of family. She also gushed about being blessed with farms and fields as a 'pahadan,' and said:

"I belong to a family of landlords and farmers, and I have been blessed with orchards, farms, and fields. Hum dono ne consciously decide kiya jese hi bache 3 ya 4 mahine ke ho jayenge, jese hi unke basic vaccinations ho jayenge, we will take them to the farmhouse, and we will raise them there. Parivaar ke sath, khule mahaul mein, khuli hawa mein, or khet mein."

However, Rubina also stated that she and Abhinav hadn't completely shifted base to Himachal Pradesh. In fact, at present, they had brought the girls down to Mumbai due to the heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh.

When Rubina Dilaik opened up about how motherhood had changed her life

Earlier, in an interview with the ETimes, Rubina Dilaik opened up about how her life changed after embracing motherhood. Talking about the same, she shared that she believes in the importance of striking a balance between motherhood and work. The Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki actress called herself a self-confessed workaholic and mentioned that she experiences brain fog a lot of times. She said:

"Now my attention has to be divided between my career and personal life because my daughters need that attention. It is challenging and overwhelming at times to manage everything. I've realised that brain fog is real - I tend to forget a lot of things, but eventually, it helps because that way I can slow down. Being a mother is not easy. To nurture new lives, I have to be at ease and get out of that rigorous cycle that I've been following for so long."
