'Anupamaa' actress, Rupali Ganguly talked about feeling like a failure in her life as she is not being able to be with her son, Rudransh because of her shoots.
Sometimes our professional life takes a toll on most of us and our personal life takes a back seat. A working mother is always under guilt as no matter what she does the thought of not being able to do enough for her baby always weighs her down. Anupamaa fame, Rupali Ganguly also feels the same as owing to her hectic shoot hours, she finds it hard to make time for her son, Rudransh.
For the unversed, in 2013, Rupali Ganguly had tied the knot with her long-time friend, Ashwin K Verma, whom she had known for 12 years. In 2015, after a lot of complications, Rupali had embraced motherhood and had welcomed a baby boy, Rudransh. After delivering her son, Rupali had taken a sabbatical from acting. It was after seven years that she had made her comeback into acting with her popular show, Anupamaa in 2020.

Just when Rupali Ganguly had signed her popular show, Anupamaa, the pandemic had hit us hard, making things difficult for her as a working mother. In a conversation with the Hindustan Times, Rupali revealed how she wanted to enjoy her motherhood, and focus more on her son, Rudransh. She said:
“My biggest ambition in life was to get married and have a family. When my son was born in 2015, I didn’t want anything else, and just wanted to focus on him, and enjoy every millisecond of motherhood. I started late as a mother, so those moments were very precious for me. When his school started, I never thought there would be a pandemic and lockdown.”
Rupali further recalled how she was offered the show, Anupamaa and she had taken it considering that she will have time as her son will be going to school. Rupali also shared that she feels like a failure as her husband has been managing everything about their son. She added:
“He would go to school at 12 and come back at seven. I thought it is the right time to begin working, not realising Covid ka lockdown ho jaayega. When a show was offered to me, my husband (Ashwin) said it’s high time I got my due as an actor. He has been managing everything since, single handedly. I am never there, unfortunately. I feel like a failure, but my husband does so much, it’s incredible.”

As Rupali is on shoot location all day being the lead of the show, her husband, Ashwin had been playing the role of a father and a mother for their son. Rupali shared that she feels blessed to have Ashwin in her life, who supports her in her professional front. She mentioned:
“He is a hands on father who is playing the mother’s role beautifully. I am blessed to have a man like that in my life who supports a woman so much. He doesn’t need to send his wife out for work, but he takes the onus for her to go out there and make a mark for herself. I couldn’t have asked for a better husband and role model for my son, too.”
Rupali also added that it gets difficult at times to follow the dreams as she has to shoot 12 hours a day, sacrificing her family time. She concluded:
“I am there all the time, perpetually. There is a standing joke ki set ka gate main kholti hoon aur main hi band karti hoon. You kind of sacrifice your family time, health, sleep, a lot of things to follow a dream which perhaps your father and husband had seen for you. It does get extremely difficult at times.”
Well, for us, Rupali is blessed to have a supporting husband like Ashwin and she is not a failure when it comes to motherhood.
