Rupali Ganguly divulges the unhappy side of being a top actress and shares feeling guilt over not being there satisfactorily for her son, Rudransh.
Rupali Ganguly is a name that doesn’t need introduction. The talented actress has mesmerised millions with her portrayal of ‘Anupama’ in the hit show by the same name. She debuted on the small screen with her iconic role in the sitcom, Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, and since then, there has been no looking back. In her personal life, she is married to Ashwin K Verma, and the couple is blessed with a son, Rudransh. Time and again, Rupali has been vocal about staying away from her husband and child owing to hectic work schedules. Moreover, she strings praises for her hubby for fulfilling her roles in their household and willingly taking a back seat from his own career.
In a recent interaction with The Times Of India, Rupali Ganguly delved on the perils of being a working woman, which hampers her to spend satisfactory time with her son, Rudransh. Being one of the highest-paid actress of television, Rupali indeed leads a hectic schedule, with barely any time for her child or husband. However, she couldn’t have been more thankful for it is her husband, Ashwin, who pulls off the dual responsibilities of a mother and father for their son. In her words:
“He is a better mother than me. I have just given birth to my son but maa toh mere husband hain.”

Speaking further along the same lines, Rupali divulged how being so far away from her son, she feels a sense of guilt. Moreover, once she reaches home, she tends to feel left out, as her child reaches out to his father and not her, for any kind of need. She added:
“You feel so left out. I feel like, hey I am there. I feel we women, wherever we work we do it with guilt. We are blessed to have such husbands who are proud of us and who are such fantastic role models for our children.”

In one of her earlier interviews with ETimes, Rupali Ganguly shared anecdotes about her real-life love story with husband, Ashwin. The actress talked about their first meeting and remembered how the latter saw her dressed as a 60-year-old lady for one of her shoots. This look of hers extracted an unusual compliment from him, as Ashwin wanted to grow old with Rupali. Adding how there wasn’t really a formal ‘I love you’ moment for them, she said:
“And then I was dressed up as a 60-year-old, as a wife. Suddenly, when I came out as a 60-year-old with white hair and everything, the first line Ashwin said was I wouldn’t mind getting old with someone like you. There was never ‘I Love You’. We directly got married.”
