Rupali Ganguly's stepdaughter, Esha Verma, has spoken out about the Rs. 50 crore lawsuit the actress filed against her.

Esha took to her social media account and shared that she was being sued for Rs. 50 for speaking her truth. Esha added that it displayed their true character. She further criticised her father, Aswhin Verma, and offered some clarification, calling the post her 'last statement on the matter'.
Esha Verma first made headlines after she posted a video claiming that Rupali Ganguly was the reason for her parents' broken marriage. Now, in an Instagram story, Esha has offered an explanation, saying that she made the difficult decision of sharing her story, which sparked widespread attention. Esha also shared that it was the hardest thing she had done, and it had brought her clarity and peace. However, she remained mindful of the impact her words would have had and handled the situation with utmost care. Esha wrote:
"Hi everyone, I'm Esha Verma, and earlier this month, I made the difficult decision to share my personal story involving my father and my experiences growing up. This decision sparked widespread attention across social media and the public eye. Speaking up was the hardest thing I've ever done, but it also became a turning point in my life. It brought clarity, peace, and liberation from years of silence. I was mindful of how this would affect not just me but also my friends and loved ones, and I handled it with the utmost care."
Esha Verma further wrote that for twenty-four years, she felt trapped and sharing her experience was her way of finding liberation. She added that her intentions were pure, and she did not mean to harm anyone but to shed light on what she went through. Esha further shared that she had hoped that by doing so, she would give others facing issues in their own families the courage to speak out.
Esha Verma continued her post and criticised her father, Ashwin Verma, for punishing her for speaking her truth. She shared that despite being a young adult, she is still her father's child, and their response to her has been nothing short of disturbing and cruel. She added that she was not just a random individual but a family member who was sharing how the situations had affected her.
Esha Verma continued her post and shared that she never involved a minor in her statement. She said that what she shared was factual and what she had learnt. Esha added that any additional information that had been circulated was without her consent or knowledge as she only spoke her truth that addressed Rupali Ganguly and Ashvin Verma. She shared:
"I never involved a minor in my statements. What I shared was factual: I learned of a marriage that took place on February 6th, 2013, and later discovered on August 25th of the same year that they had a child. Any additional interpretations published in the media were made without my input or consent. I only spoke about my own experiences and addressed two individuals directly."
Esha Verma concluded her note by saying that her last post was only focused on her personal experience. She added that she chose to archive later because she felt she had said what she wanted and wanted to protect her peace. Esha further shared that the purpose of the note she shared on her Instagram story was to clarify any misconceptions and that she did not want to instigate any further discussions. She shared:
"The purpose of this statement is solely to clarify any misconceptions and address uncertainties surrounding my story and the responses it has received. It is not intended to instigate further back and forth on this matter. I will not be participating in any interviews, further discussions, or commentary about this situation moving forward. My focus now is on healing, rebuilding, and embracing the next chapter of my life."
