Ruslaan Mumtaz and Nirali Mehta tied the knot on March 02, 2014, and after 6 years of marriage, the couple was recently blessed with a baby boy amidst the coronavirus scare. While the actor had the happiest day of his life, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Ruslaan recalled how things turned into a nightmare, and he was asked to leave the hospital along with wife, Nirali, and newborn baby, Rayaan immediately due to COVID-19 scare. The actor was left in a tough spot with no knowledge about how to feed the baby and with no nanny to help.
In the interview with the Hindustan Times, recalling the night, Ruslaan said, “One of the doctors in the hospital had passed away due to Covid-19, so we left after a few hours. We had no nanny and no one to guide us how to feed Rayaan (his son) or how to make him burp. My parents told me to get a Japa maid who specialises in taking care of the newborns but that would have increased the chances of contracting the virus.”
Further, Ruslaan talked about how the baby had slept the entire day and didn’t have milk for 14 hours. The actor said, “We were told that if the baby was sleeping, we shouldn’t wake him up. Around 12 at night, he woke up and I was up till 3 am with him in my arms. Nirali and I decided to swaddle the baby so that he felt cosy in the cot. We saw online how to do it and wrapped him up tightly. And then, I slept for a while. When I woke up, I touched the baby and he wasn’t moving. I freaked out thinking I had done something wrong. It was as if I had lost him but after some time, he moved and I was relieved.” (Recommended Read: Neha Kakkar Pens A Heartfelt Note For Brother, Tony Kakkar On His Birthday)
Ruslaan also talked about how he convinced a nanny to be with them for the next three months. He said, “One of my friends, who lived near her place, helped us get her to our home. I realised that I might end up making a mistake due to the lack of knowledge. I hope people will understand my situation and not judge me for this”.
For the uninitiated on March 26, 2020, Ruslaan Mumtaz and Nirali Mehta had welcomed their ‘chota baby’ and the proud daddy had posted the first pictures of his baby boy. Ruslaan had taken to his Instagram handle to announce the arrival of his little one, and had written, “26-03-2020 : CHOTA BABY HAS ARRIVED I was going to avoid uploading any of my baby's pictures for atleast 3,4 months but given the current gloom and doom in the world right now I think news of a chota baby will only brighten your day. I genuinely do believe that babies born in times when the world is going through a rough patch come here for a reason. So I'm hoping my chota baby is a super hero born in difficult times and in time will make this world even more beautiful than he already is. I hope and pray the world becomes a better place for us, our parents and our children.” Take a look: (Also Read: BFFs, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Malaika Arora And Others Are Missing Someone Over Video Call)
