Ruslaan Mumtaz and Nirali Mehta’s baby boy, Rayaan turned one today and the doting father penned a heartmelting wish for his ‘chota baby’.
The year 2020 had been a tough one for all of us but for women, who were expecting their babies, it was nothing less than a nightmare. And one such couple, who had welcomed their first child, just a few days after the nationwide lockdown, owing to COVID-19 pandemic is MP3: Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar fame, Ruslaan Mumtaz and his wife, Nirali Mehta. The couple had welcomed their little bundle of joy, Rayaan Mumtaz on March 26, 2020 and it was nothing less than a roller coaster ride for them.

After the birth of their baby boy, the proud father, Ruslaan had taken to his Instagram to share the first-ever pictures of his newborn. Because the little one had come into this world during the global pandemic, Ruslaan and Nirali feel that he is a ‘superhero’. Sharing the first cute picture of his ‘chota baby’, Ruslaan had written, “Ideally this should have been the first picture of Chota Baby but we don't live in an ideal world anymore. #chotababy #superhero #toughtimesdontlast #toughguy.”
On March 26, 2021, Ruslaan and Nirali’s baby boy, Rayaan turned one and the doting father penned a heartmelting wish for his little wonder. He took to his IG handle and shared an adorable twinning family picture with Nirali and Rayaan and wrote, “Happy Birthday to my Chota Baby. I sometimes wonder if you have made my world upside down or I've made yours by just bringing you into this world. Sometimes you are my toy, my photo prop, my stress buster, my workout equipment, my responsibility, my dependent but above everything you are my blood. Even though I still don't feel like a dad I feel our bond. Before you came into this world I had so many fears and apprehensions about how I would be with a child but once I actually saw you it all seemed so natural as if I was always prepared for this. Today you turn 1 and I can see the long journey ahead for us. I hope and pray that it is as easy and fun as the first year has been. Happy Birthday @rayaanmumtaz.” On the other hand, Nirali shared an IG reel of Rayaan's cake smash and wrote, "Today is a great day cause it's my birthday!"
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Ruslaan Mumtaz had announced the name of their ‘superhero chota baby’ and had revealed why they had decided to keep this name. Ruslaan was quoted as saying, “Rayaan means gates to heaven. Nirali came up with this name and we immediately locked it. She was very close to her grandmother who passed away two days before the baby was born. So, she decided to call him Rayaan, opening the gates of heaven for our grandmother, into our lives.”

On September 24, 2020, Ruslaan Mumtaz had shared a lovely family picture on his IG handle. In the picture, the newbie parents were seen smiling blissfully at the camera, holding their little munchkin. Ruslaan had written a quirky caption which could be read as "Chota baby: They say people with dimples are the best. Rus: So then what am I? Second best? Chota baby: no, you are third best. #cutestbabyever #babylaugh #babystyle."
It was on February 1, 2020, when Ruslaan Mumtaz had announced that his wife, Nirali Mehta is pregnant and had revealed the due month. With a beautiful picture from their vacation, Ruslaan had written, “2020: THE RISE OF THE CHOTA BABY 16yrs back when we had met, you were my chota baby @niralirm. Then you grew up and weren't a baby anymore, you turned into a strong, independent woman and the Chota Baby disappeared but now in 2020, the Chota baby will rise again. Cheers to the Chota Baby Releasing in April 2020 only in Mumbai, India.”
