As Saif Ali Khan and his family continue to recover from the shocking knife attack, his sister, Saba Pataudi, turned to faith, performing a spiritual ritual for their protection.
It has been 22 days since the shocking incident of January 16, 2025, when Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan was brutally attacked by an intruder at his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai. During the wee hours, an intruder broke into his residence through his youngest son Jeh's room. In a shocking turn of events, Saif sustained six stab wounds from the assailant’s knife when he confronted them. The actor even had to undergo emergency surgeries to remove a 2.5-inch long piece of knife which was lodged dangerously close to his spine. Despite the injuries, Saif showed immense resilience throughout the ordeal and is recovering well.
While Saif has been recovering at a steady pace, the trauma of that horrifying night is still raw in the minds of his family and close relatives. In the wake of the stabbing incident, Saif’s sister, Saba Pataudi, resorted to her faith for the family’s protection. She recently performed Qur'an Khwani and Sadqa for the well-being of her brother, sister-in-law (whom she calls ‘bhabs’), Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their children, Taimur and Jeh. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Saba shared a glimpse of the ritual with a caption that read:
“Faith… matters most to me. So did a Qu’ran khwani and sadqa for Bhai and the family, boys Tim n Jeh and Bhabs. Protection Always!”
On the night of the attack, Saif had to suffer the assailant’s stabs in an attempt to save his son and the house help from getting injured. The way the attacker stabbed Saif proves that he could have caused serious harm to the rest of the family, but the actor’s bravery saved the night. In light of the incident, on January 16, 2025, Saba Pataudi took to her Instagram to express that their late father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, would be proud of him. Saba’s message read:
“I am in shock and reeling from this insane incident. But proud of you Bhaijaan. Taking care of the family and standing tall would make Abba so proud. I am. get well soon. Missing being there. Will see you soon. Duas N prayers always. I love you.”
Saif Ali Khan was released from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on January 21, 2025. He was seen braving a strong face as he greeted the paps before walking inside his apartment. After some days of much-needed rest from the traumatic incident, Saif made a strong public comeback on February 3, 2025. He was spotted at a Netflix event in Mumbai’s Juhu area, looking composed and confident in a denim shirt and pants.
The event marked the trailer launch of Saif's upcoming streaming project, Jewel Thief - The Heist Begins, where he shares the screen with Paatal Lok star, Jaideep Ahlawat. The project, in which Saif plays the titular role, is already generating massive buzz among fans.
