South Indian actress, Sai Pallavi has reportedly been cast as 'Sita' in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayan' trilogy. However, netizens are not happy with the decision.
Sai Pallavi is one of the prominent names from the South Indian film industry. She debuted in 2015 with the film, Premam, and since then, there has been no looking back. She has worked in some hit films like Athiran, Fidaa, NGK, Paava Kadhaigal, Shyam Singa Roy, Gargi and many more. After working down south for nine years, Sai has been reportedly roped in for Bollywood director, Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film trilogy based on Ramayan.
Previously, there were reports that Alia Bhatt would star as ‘Sita’ alongside her husband, Ranbir Kapoor’s character ‘Ram’. However, then speculations shifted to Sai Pallavi portraying ‘Sita’ and then again, reports claimed that the South Indian actress was replaced by Janhvi Kapoor. But it has now been confirmed that the southern beauty is playing the role of ‘Sita’.

After this report surfaced in the media, several people took to their X (formerly Twitter) accounts and penned their thoughts on it. While some users were unhappy with the fact that Sai was going to play ‘Sita’, stating that she was not that attractive to play the part, others suggested the names of actresses who would be a perfect fit for the role instead of Sai.

According to a report by Koimoi, Sai Pallavi will be paid around Rs 6 crore for each of the films in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan trilogy. Hence, the actress will receive Rs 18-20 crore for her stint in Bollywood films. Moreover, the same report mentions that Sai has doubled her fees for Ramayan, as she currently charges Rs 2.5-3 crore for every project she stars in the South Indian entertainment industry.
However, Sai’s remuneration for the Ramayan trilogy is way less than what the two leads, Ranbir Kapoor as ‘Lord Ram’ and Yash as ‘Ravana’ will be getting. The same report stated that the Bollywood actor has charged Rs 75 crore per film, surmounting it to Rs 225 crore for the trilogy. On the other hand, Yash is charging Rs 150 crore for the three films, making it Rs 50 crore for each film.
