Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who moved to their new apartment a few weeks ago, have also given personalised touches to the interiors of their home. It was around mid-2020 when Saif had confirmed that they had bought a new apartment and, in the beginning of 2021, the family had moved into their new home. Before leaving her Fortune Heights’ apartment, Kareena Kapoor Khan had celebrated her last night in that house with her girl gang. Kareena, Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora Ladak had posted a lovely picture from their ‘Fortune Nights’ memory. While Kareena had captioned her post as “It’s been a FORTUNE of memories... on to the next... to new beginnings PS: #Fortune you have been kind #FortuneNights #EndOfAnEra #KaftanSeries”, Karisma had written, “It’s been a Fortune of memories... to new beginnings... #fortunenights #fortuneyouhavebeenkind #memoriesforlife #endofanera.” Malaika and Amrita had written similar captions, “It’s been a FORTUNE of memories ...to new beginnings now #fortunenights #fortuneyouhavebeenkind” and “It’s been a FORTUNE of memories ...to new beginnings now #fortunenights #fortuneyouhavebeenkind.”
As Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have moved into their new apartment, they are moving their belongings from Fortune Heights to their new home. Giving a personalised touch to their new apartment too, Saif and Kareena have customised the interiors of their house and are filling it with some of their most prized possessions. As per a report by The Times Of India, Saif and Kareena’s house helps were spotted moving large framed portraits to the new house. One of the frames were of Saif’s amma, Sharmila Tagore’s vintage look from her 1969 film, Aradhana and the other one was a poster of his movie, Love Aaj Kal.
Darshini Shah, who had worked on styling Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s new 4-floor residence in Mumbai, had spoken about her project. Recalling how she had met Saif and Kareena, Darshini had said in an interview with Khaleej Times, “Dinesh Vijan who helms Maddock Films, has played a very important role in my journey as a designer. Over the years, through multiple collaborations we’ve formed a deep bond that goes beyond work. I was doing up Dinesh’s home in 2009 when he introduced me to Saif, who had just starting dating Kareena then. Speaking of how their new home is different from Fortune Heights’ house in terms of aesthetics, Darshini Shah had stated, “Like I said, it is an extension of their old home, but larger, airy and spacious. We’ve added a lovely stairway and open terraces and balconies that are landscaped beautifully. For Saif, the voracious reader, there is the library and a reading room. Since it is much larger than their old home, we had to rework the aesthetics to suit the space, natural light and outdoors. The renovation of this home took a few years as they got busy with work and Taimur and were extremely comfortable in their old home. We took up the last leg of styling and furbishing in 2020 amidst the pandemic but we pulled all stops and finished in time given the new addition to the family. The creative synergy we share along with K (as we fondly call her) being very involved and chilled in spite of the progressing pregnancy made the final setting up and staging a fun ride.”
When asked, “How would you describe Kareena and Saif’s new residence in terms of the deco element and the overriding feel of the house?” Darshini Shah had retorted, “Like them, it is classic, colonial and timeless. Their love for England is well known and their home reflects that very English understated luxury. It also has a little bit of Pataudi, cricket, films, family photos and their lovely collection of art.
