Saif Ali Khan was caught up in a terrifying tragedy in the early hours of January 16, 2025. The much-loved actor was brutally attacked in the confines of his own home, where he should have been the safest. Saif sustained six stab wounds, two of which were serious, as well as other injuries. However, as of the latest reports, the star is in stable condition, albeit still admitted to the ICU for observation. The tragedy could, however, affect Saif’s working schedule and the long list of films he is scheduled to star in. Here’s a look at his projects that might be delayed.
The attack on Saif Ali Khan happened at a time when he was busy filming Siddhart Anand’s Jewel Thief: The Red Sun Chapter. The star reportedly wrapped up shooting in December 2024, and the first pictures of Saif from Budapest broke headlines. The film also features Jaideep Ahlawat and Nikita Dutta.
Reports have also surfaced about Ramesh Taurani bringing back Saif Ali Khan for the fourth instalment of the Race franchise. The actor was in the first two films. However, the third film saw Salman Khan in the lead role. As per the latest reports, though, Saif will be making a comeback in the fourth film, with a possible appearance by Ranbir Kapoor.
Saif Ali Khan is also set to feature in Kabir Singh director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming project, Spirit. Prabhas has reportedly been locked in as the lead, while Saif Ali Khan will appear in a key role. Not only that, Saif’s wife and actress, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mrunal Thakur will also appear in the film.
Saif Ali Khan also left fans craving more with his stellar performance in Devara, and it looks like the makers are set to fulfill their desires. The actor will be making a much-anticipated comeback in the sequel to the film alongside Jr NTR and Jahnvi Kapoor. Kortala Siva will be directing the film.
Saif Ali Khan has reportedly signed a few other projects, which are still in the initial stages of production. However, these, too, may be impacted by the attack on the actor. These include Tamil director, Balaji Mohan’s Click Shankar, a Priyadarshan film that hasn’t been named yet, and Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout at Byculla. Rumours were also rife that Saif Ali Khan would be gracing the silver screen with his daughter, Sara Ali Khan, but no confirmed news about the project is out yet.
For the unversed, on the late night of January 15, 2024, an intruder invaded Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan's Bandra home while they were reportedly asleep. The incident occurred around 2:30 am. When Saif confronted the burglar, he stabbed him several times. Saif was stabbed six times, and two of the wounds were severe. The intruder fled as soon as the other occupants of the house woke up. A senior IPS officer confirmed the incident and said:
"Saif Ali Khan has been admitted to the Lilavati hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. It is not clear yet, if he is stabbed or injured in the scuffle with the robber. We have been investigating the matter. The Mumbai crime branch is also conducting a parallel investigation into the incident."
