Paparazzi culture is neither new to Bollywood nor to the rest of the world, and the photographers share a love-hate relationship with the B-town celebs. From the gym, restaurant, airport to their homes, are now hubs for the paparazzi as they trawl the streets of Mumbai day in and day out capturing candid pictures of the celebrities. While some celebrities are comfortable being clicked by the shutterbugs, some have often lashed out at them for the constant scrutiny over their private sphere.
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s son, Taimur Ali Khan has been the most fascinated and photographed star kid of the B-town. Though Saif and Kareena have, time and again, expressed their concern over the constant paparazzi scrutiny over their two-year-old, but the paps and netizens are all over this little munchkin. Recently, Saif and Kareena along with Taimur were snapped at the Mumbai airport heading to their ancestral home in Pataudi.
But the paparazzi intrusion made daddy Saif Ali Khan worried, who snapped at them for clicking Junior Nawab with the flashes. Saif had told the camera persons, “Bas karo yaar, bachcha andha ho jaayega.” And when he was asked to pose with wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan and son, Taimur Ali Khan, he had said, “Aap ko lena hai toh lo, ye pose karna thoda ajeeb hai.”
Soon after this incident, reports of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan filing a complaint against the paparazzi for creating a ruckus outside their residence has been doing the rounds. Clarifying the same, Saif stated in a formal statement to Pinkvilla, “I did not initiate any police complaint against the photographers. Kareena and I live in a respectful residential area and are a part of the larger community, thereby we do also have a responsibility to emotionally support our neighbours when they feel a disturbance to them is being caused and to be fair, their sentiments are understandable.” Saif Ali Khan added that he has always been ‘more than understanding’ when pictures of their two-year-old son, Taimur Ali Khan are clicked, but he insists that some restraint has to be ensured. He stated, “We have always shared a very respectful relationship with the paparazzi. We understand that it’s their livelihood. However, it’s important to understand that kids should enjoy the basic right of growing up in a normal atmosphere out of and away from constant media glare. I believe I am well within my right as a father to choose to not pose for the cameras when I have my son with me or to inform the photographers that the constant flashes can hurt his eyes. As media figures, we have to live with the attention and we accept that. But our kids shouldn’t be subjected to it.” (Also Read: Sakshi Tanwar Talks Her heart Out On Being A Mother, Says 'It's The Most Beautiful Feeling Ever') Stating that he wants his son, Taimur Ali Khan to have a humble life away from the constant media attention, Saif Ali Khan in a throwback interview had shared, “He has innocence in his eyes, there is nothing pretentious, but yes I am worried about him. I and Kareena have already discussed the stardom he already has around him and we have decided to send him to a nice boarding school in England. It will hopefully do the trick. It has done for everybody in the family. Kareena is going to be a very good mother. She will not be impressed if he is spoilt.” Later, in an interview with the Film Companion, Kareena Kapoor Khan had talked about the constant pressure and worry they have for their son, Taimur Ali Khan. She was quoted as saying, “Because what am I supposed to go screaming, what am I supposed to do. So it's like dangerous for us, the test is in us. The pressure is on Saif and me more than him. He is still growing up he is still small, he is registering that he's being clicked because they are calling his name. But the pressure is more on the parents because we are worrying constantly. It's up to us to give him a normal upbringing.” Speaking about her husband, Saif Ali Khan's idea of sending Taimur Ali Khan to a British boarding school, Kareena Kapoor Khan had continued, “They are leaving us with no choice. But of course, as a mother, it would kill me to send him away. And I think it'd be unfair and I tell Saif that it'd be like running away from reality because this is the reality.” (Also Read: Nihaar Pandya Posts A Hand-In-Hand Picture With Wife Neeti Mohan On Their Second-Month Anniversary) What do you have to say about Saif Ali Khan’s formal statement?
