It is being reported that Saif Ali Khan's house help may have known the attacker who stabbed the actor 6 times in a brutal attack.
Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan is recovering after being attacked at his Bandra home on January 16, 2024. It was reportedly at 2 am when an intruder barged into Saif and Kareena's Satguru Sharan residence. The actor was attacked multiple times with a knife after a scuffle took place between him and the star. Mumbai Police has now got into action and joined the crime scene. They have their suspect on Saif's domestic help.
Mumbai Police have been working on Saif Ali Khan's case, who had to undergo surgery after being stabbed 6 times by an intruder. The cops suspect that the house help who was present at that time may have allowed the attacker inside the home. Authorities are also investigating and looking if the domestic help had any earlier connection with the attacker. A source close to Indian Express told Mumbai Police:
"We suspect the help must have allowed him entry and due to some reason a fight took place. She is being interrogated by the local police to get more details about the accused. Seven local police teams are working to track him down.”
The same report also claimed that the attacker was locked in one of the rooms, but he managed to escape. The attacker reportedly used fire escape to flee after committing the crime. The attacker was spotted in the CCTV clipping.
During the interrogation, Saif's domestic help said she was also injured during the fight. She suffered a minor injury to her hand that required medical attention, and then she was discharged. The attacker ran away from the scene after injuring Saif. The actor was alerted about the situation when he realised an altercation took place between his domestic help and the intruder. A source close to Mumbai Police told ANI:
"When the actor tried to intervene and pacify the man, he attacked Saif Ali Khan and injured him. Police are investigating the matter."
Apart from Saif and Kareena, their two kids, Taimur and Jeh, were also inside the home when the assault had taken place. He was taken to Mumbai's Lilavati hospital by his son, Ibrahim Ali Khan who is his older son from his first marriage to Amrita Singh. The Crime Branch had also noted that nobody had entered the society complex two hours before the shocking incident had occurred.
The Mumbai Police team have made 10 teams that also include specialists from the Crime Branch to dig deep into the investigation and track down the culprit. According to investigations, the intruder didn't break into Saif's 12th-floor flat of Satguru Sharan residence. Reportedly he may have hidden in the building and after a violent fight used the stairs to escape the scene. Saif's team had also issued a statement that read:
"Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police is investigating the incident."
