Saira Banu praised her husband, Dilip Kumar's performance in 'Sagina' as she dropped a series of pictures from the film.
Saira Banu and Dipika Kumar are one of the most loved couples in Bollywood. Their evergreen love story is an inspiration for many. For the unversed, Saira Banu and Dipika Kumar first when the former was just a 12-year-old fan of the legendary actor. Moreover, she instantly fell in love with his charisma and started manifesting their love. Eventually, the duo got married in 1966. However, Saira and Dilip's togetherness came to end when the latter left for the heavenly abode on July 7, 2021. Now, after two years of his demise, Saira made her debut on Instagram, and she has been sharing some priceless throwback stories related to Dilip Kumar.
On July 16, 2023, Saira Banu took to her Instagram handle and dropped a series of stills from her film, Sagina. The pictures featured the legendary actor, Dilip Kumar. In one of the monochrome pictures, we can see a cutesy moment of the evergreen couple as Dilip Kumar lifted Saira Banu in his arms. Sharing the pictures, the veteran actress penned a long note about their film and shared that it is one of her most loved films. She added that she was happy when Dipil Kumar and Tapan Sinha worked together as they were good friends and like-minded people who brought immense ease to the set. In her words:
"Sagina is one of my most loved films. It is based on the true story of the labour movement. Sagina, a factory labourer..is an honest, aggressive and loveable character who was the first against the tyranny of the British bosses in the tea gardens of Northern-Eastern India. I was so happy when Sahib and revered Tapan Sinha worked together...they were such good friends and like minded that they brought ease and cordiality while filming Sagina."

Further, in her note, Saira Banu revealed that while working on their film, Dilip Kumar set up a Badminton court so that all the crew members could play together after the shoot. She shared that he had created a relaxed atmosphere at Gayabari, where they were shooting. Elaborating more on it, Saira Banu said:
"The first thing that Sahib set up in the garden was a Badminton court for all the team of the shooting to play together in the evenings and then cosily huddle in the house to sing and joke together turn by turn."
Saira Banu then shared her favourite scene with her 'Sahib', Dilip Kumar. Concluding her note, the veteran actress praised her husband' performance in the film and called it 'spell binding' and 'enthralling'. Elaborating more about it, Saira Banu penned:
"Sharing a scene which is my personal favourite...when Sagina who is a robust ongoing man, is sitting in his office absolutely bored and suffocated and then he steps out compelled to breathe the fresh air in the lush outdoors. Then he spots the coming of the train and exuberantly matches speed with the passing train. I think it is one of Sahib's most spell binding and enthralling performances."

On July 8, 2023, Saira Banu had taken to her IG handle and dropped a throwbck picture of Dilip Kumar. Sharing the same, the veteran actress revealed some fond details about her relationship with her ‘Sahib’. She also stated that the former always liked to wear white-hued Jodhpuri kind of bush shirts with a collar. She added how whenever she used to plead him to wear something more colourful, he would counter-request her to wear fluffy Organdy sarees and not salwar kameez. In her words:
"Sahib preferably always wore white in this Jodhpuri collar kind of "Bush" shirts... I requested and got around him to please wear a few colour shades In his shirts... here he is laughing at me saying look! I am wearing a colour... a yellow that you like Saira... but on condition that you promise to wear fluffy Organdy sarees that make you seem more substantial! Not salwar kameez that makes me want to send you to school again!"
