Saira Banu remembers her late husband, Dilip Kumar on Valentine's Day and reveals getting handwritten notes and cards from him.
Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu were hailed as one of the most iconic couples of all time. Despite an age gap of 22 years, the duo completed each other’s lives like no other. For the unversed, Saira always considered herself as the greatest fangirl of the legendary actor, and when she finally got married to him in 1996, it was nothing less than a dream come true. However, their years of companionship came to an end in 2021, when Dilip Kumar passed away at the age of 98. Since then, the doting wife keeps reminiscing her Yusuf sahab occasionally through fond social media posts.
Taking to her IG handle on February 14, 2024, Saira Banu penned a heartfelt post about her darling husband, Dilip Kumar, as she reminisced the adorable gestures, he did for her on Valentine’s Day every year. The veteran actress remarked that in a generation where text messages are the new trend, she feels fortunate to have received handwritten notes and cards from her soulmate. Adding how she believes Dilip Kumar will always remain by her side, Saira wrote:
“Valentine's Day holds utmost importance for both Dilip Sahib and me. Sahib would often gift me hand-scribbled greeting cards and short notes. In today's world, where expressions of love often come disguised as cell phone messages and lengthy texts, I feel extremely fortunate to have experienced a love that found its most genuine expression. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that no matter what, Dilip Sahib and I will continue to walk hand in hand by the grace of God, united in our thoughts and being until the end of time. He is always with me at every step of my life.”

“Reflecting on the love we shared, I think about the time and place where I recall how I couldn't resist the opportunity to plant a peck on his cheek. There was one particular moment when Dilip Sahib whistled, and immediately after, I placed my lips on his right cheek. In that moment, I truly wished I could have captured the sound of his whistle to replay it whenever possible, to feel his closeness.”
