Salman Khan once admitted to starting a massive fight with his former flame, Aishwarya Rai. Here's what happened in her building.
Salman Khan's turbulent relationship with his ex-flame, Aishwarya Rai can never be forgotten. Their romance was one of the most controversial and highly prolific in the history of Bollywood. While both have separated and have carved a niche for themselves, their love story had elements of passion, fame and different challenges. 'Bhaijaan' has turned 59 on December 27, 2024. Let us remember the time when he had threatened to jump off Aishwarya Rai's building after she refused to let him inside her home.
It was in 2011 when, in a candid interview with the Bombay Times, Salman shed light on his relationship with Aishwarya. There was a particular incident that had hogged the limelight when the former pair was together. It was on one of the November nights in 2001 when reportedly Salman had created drama outside Aishwarya's home at Gorakh Hill tower. Reportedly, the actor had banged the door hard and, in an emotional state, had threatened to jump off the 17th floor of the building if Aishwarya had not let him inside. The fight reportedly ended at 3 Am when Salman got an entry to Aishwarya's home. The incident had left a negative impact on their bond and people's perception. Salman had admitted:
"Yes, yes, there is truth (in these reports). But they are all exaggerated. I'm having a relationship with her. But if you don't fight, there's no love... Whatever fighting and possessiveness is there from my side and hers is all out of love... But I banged my car. I have now been told by the cops not to go to her building.”
It has been more than 20 years since Aishwarya and Salman's relationship ended, but their love story is infamous. Reportedly, they started dating on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. It was reported that Salman was dating Somy Ali at that time. In an interview with DNA, she revealed details of their love story. She revealed that Aishwarya visited Salman's gym at Galaxy, Bandra. In her words:
"Salman and I used to live on the ground floor of Galaxy where we had a gym also. Aishwarya and Salman fell in love during the shooting of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. I was getting information from the servants inside who favoured me. I knew in my heart that their relationship was something that’s gonna blossom. I knew it was time for me to leave."
The chemistry of the ex-pair had shelled couple goals, and they were one of the most talked about couples. It was in 2002 when Aishwarya confirmed breaking up with Salman and cited harassment and abuse as reasons. Aishwarya said that after she broke up, Salman would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected her of having affairs with her co-stars. Aishwarya had also claimed that Salman had physically attacked her, luckily without leaving any marks. She would go to work as if nothing had happened.
