Apparently, Salman was offered to play Aishwarya's on-screen brother in the Mansoor Khan film, Josh. However, he rejected the offer and it was then played by King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan.
In a throwback interview, after breaking up with Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai had put the onus of the break-up on him and was quoted as saying, “I stood by him enduring his alcoholic misbehaviour in its worst phases and in turn I was at the receiving end of his abuse (verbal, physical and emotional), infidelity and indignity. That is why like any other self-respecting woman I ended my relationship with him.” (Also Read: Shah Rukh Khan And Gauri Khan's 18 Crore Worth Villa In Dubai Is What 'Live Life, King Size' Means)
Aishwarya Rai’s statement clearly didn’t go down well with Khan clan, and later, Salman’s younger brother and actor-director, Sohail Khan openly slammed Aishwarya for her comments. Taking a potshot at Aishwarya, Sohail had then said, “Now she weeps in public. When she was going around with him when she used to visit our home so often as part of the family, did she ever acknowledge the relationship? She never did. That made Salman feel insecure. He wanted to know how much she wanted him. She would never let him be sure of that.”
Besides slamming Aishwarya for never acknowledging her relationship with Salman, Sohail took a dig at her for her alleged affair with Vivek Oberoi. He had stated, “Aishwarya Rai was in constant touch with Salman till recently on the mobile and that's what upset Vivek.” (Also Read: Salman Khan Had Talked About Aishwarya And Abhishek Bachchan's Marriage In This Throwback Interview)
During the #MeToo movement that was going on in India sometime back, a video of Salman Khan went viral on social media wherein he spoke about hitting a woman (referring to Aishwarya Rai). When asked by the editorial director and president of NDTV, Sonia Singh, if he has ever hit a woman, Salman replied, “Yeah, now that woman has said that I have. I mean there was a journalist Prabhu Chawla who asked me this long time ago, so I just banged the table he got startled, the table really broke. I mean, if I hit somebody, it's obviously a fight, I am going to be angry. I am going to whack and give it my best shot. I don't think she would've survived it." In a throwback interview with The Times of India, Aishwarya revealed some shocking reasons behind her breakup with Salman. She had then said, “Salman and I broke up last March, but he isn't able to come to terms with it. After we broke up, he would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected me of having affairs with my co-stars. I was linked up with everyone, from Abhishek Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. And I would go to work as if nothing had happened.”
Speaking about his aggressive attitude and violent nature, the Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam actress stated, “I stood by him enduring his alcoholic misbehaviour in its worst phases and in turn I was at the receiving end of his abuse (verbal, physical and emotional), infidelity and indignity. That is why like any other self-respecting woman I ended my relationship with him.” She had also very straightforwardly revealed that Salman had indirectly once confessed cheating on her. The former Miss World quipped, “He indirectly confessed to me one day.”
Sharing an incident with Aishwarya, Salman was quoted as saying in an interview, “The incident is true, but it was overhyped by the media. I have a relationship with Aishwarya. If you do not fight in a relationship, it means you do not love each other. Why would I squabble with a person who is a stranger to me? Such things happen between us only because we love each other. Now, even the police have barred me from entering that building.” (Also Read: Sneha Ullal, Aishwarya Rai's Look-Alike And Salman Khan's Co-Star Finally Finds Love, Pics Inside)
Salman further continued, “Her parents are very nice people. They are orthodox like my family. They have heard about my past affairs and they didn't like me in the life of their daughter. It is my fault, not theirs. I should have understood it earlier. They never stopped me from meeting with Aishwarya despite the fact that I treated them badly. Aishwarya did not like my behaviour towards them just as I would not appreciate anybody misbehaving with my father. Aishwarya's father is completely justified in complaining against me. I have no grudge against him.” (Also Read: Aishwarya Rai And Salman Khan Ensured Strict Ways To Avoid Each Other At Subhash Ghai's B'day Bash)
