Salman Khan makes a light-hearted comment on Kangana amid nepotism debate

Salman Khan is busy promoting his upcoming film, Sikandar, and for the same purpose, he has been frequently interacting with the media. On March 26, 2025, the superstar sat down for a meet and greet session in a Mumbai hotel and answered different questions put forward by the media. During the conversation, the media discussed the recent debate on 'self-made' stars in the industry with him. Sharing his take on the debate, Salman said:

"Nobody in this world is self-made. I don't believe in that. It's all teamwork. Had my father not come to Mumbai from Indore, I would have been farming there. It was his decision that (paved the way for me)."

Salman added that his father, Salim Khan, came to Mumbai to work in films. Consequently, as the son of Salim Khan, he had the choice to continue working in Mumbai or return to Indore. But he decided to follow in his father's footsteps. The Bodyguard actor gave a humorous touch to his response and highlighted that nowadays, people bring new terms like nepotism, and he too loves it. Journalists at the event cited examples of upcoming talent in the industry, like Ranveena Tandon's daughter, Rasha, who made buzz with her debut. However, Salman misheard them and was surprised as he said:

“Kangana ki beti aa rahi hain. Ab Kangana ki beti aayengi, to films karengi, ya politics join karengi, to unko bhi. (Nepotism). Yeah, she or he will have to do something else."

Salman Khan admits there are 'insecurities' among the present generation of actors

Salman Khan has never backed out from speaking his heart. During the event, media personnel asked him about his views on the current low phase of Bollywood. The superstar shared that high-budget films are one of the main reasons why Bollywood isn't able to make many successful films. At the same time, filmmakers are making films for the wrong reasons. Highlighting how the current generation of actors has made it difficult to make iconic multi-starrers like the 90s and 2000s due to insecurities, the superstar said:

"The actors have become insecure. Do you see any of the younger generation doing two heroes? I offered a film to the actors, but they did not want to do it. The fact is they don't want to work with each other. With our thing, I have worked with Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir, Sunny, Sanju, Jackie, Rahul Roy, and Anil Kapoor multiple times. With our fans and their fans coming together, it gives you that much of a box office collection."
