In a recent interview, Samantha Ruth Prabhu opened up about her and Naga Chaitanya's failed marriage for the first time. She revealed how spirituality helped her overcome the pain.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya fell in love with each other on the set of their film, Ye Maaya Chesave, and tied the knot in 2017. However, troubles soon emerged in their paradise, and they decided to part ways after almost four years of marriage. Since then, rumours about their alleged patch-up have been doing rounds on the internet, but the duo never reacted to it. While Samantha maintained her silence on her failed marriage for the longest time, she finally opened up about the same.
In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, Samantha Ruth Prabhu opened up about her failed marriage with Naga Chaitanya for the first time and revealed how it impacted her. The actress revealed that soon after her and Naga's separation, her health deteriorated, and her work was immensely affected. Reflecting on the difficult times she went through in the last two years, Samantha said:
"When I hit an all-time low of, well, a failed marriage, and my health and work were getting affected, it was like a triple whammy; boom, boom, boom. You know, people go down for far less than what I endured for the last two years or so. During that time, I read about actors who have gone through health issues and made a comeback, or suffered trolling or anxiety. And reading their stories helped me. It gave me strength to know that if they did it, I can, too."

Speaking along the same lines, Samantha shared that since she is a loved actress in India, she always tries to be real and honest. She also emphasised on the fact that her fans are not there just for the hunky-dory part, but she needs to tell them about her pain, hardships and lows. She added:
"It’s important to recognise that being a loved star in this nation is an incredible gift; so be responsible for it, be honest and real, and tell your story. And it’s not always about how many super hits and blockbusters one has, how many awards have been won, the perfect body, or the most beautiful outfits. It’s the pain, the hardships, the lows."
Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who has exposed her followers to a deep and spiritual side of herself, talked about how spirituality helped her overcome her failed marriage. Talking about taking a holistic approach to life, the actress said that she resorted to meditation when everything else failed. She also revealed that she has come a long way, adding that she would have gone to a dark place otherwise. In her words:
"I was telling my friend, ‘When everything fails, that’s where it all begins’, and I think my journey with spirituality began when everything else failed. For someone who wasn’t religious or couldn’t even sit still for a minute in meditation, I have come a long way. It’s not a quick fix. If I did not have this path, I would have probably gone to a really dark place and I might not have been able to crawl out of it. I’m strong today and find reasons to laugh all the time. I think spirituality has helped me connect with something that is larger than me."

Earlier this year, Samantha Ruth Prabhu took a break from acting. During the same interview, when the actress was asked about the same, she shared that when her health deteriorated, she promised herself to take a break and travel a bit. She added that she didn't take a break for 13 years of her acting career, which impacted her body. Talking about how she is spending her break time, Samantha said:
"When I went down last year, I didn’t get to move out of my house for a good amount of time. I promised myself that once I felt better I would take a break, I would travel, I would live a little. Because 13 years of not taking a break, running a race that no one knows who’s winning and then also, winning what exactly. So I think taking this break also proves a point to myself that I’m not looking for external validation. I’m really glad that I have made that switch and am prioritising experiencing life a little, living in the moment, and getting time to spend with people I love."
On the work front, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was last seen in the film, Kushi.
