Indian actress, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been in the news for her sudden separation from her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya. Rumours of their split have been doing rounds in the media for a long time. However, the once-madly-in-love couple had confirmed it in October 2021. After which, many reports of their unpleasant divorce had made it to the headlines.
For those who don't know, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya had first met on the sets of their hit film, Yeh Maaya Chesave. However, they didn't fall in love at that time. Instead, their dating speculations started in 2015 when they were spotted together. Finally, on October 7, 2017, Samantha and Chaitanya had tied the knot.

According to media reports, Samantha Ruth Prabhu had returned her wedding saree to Naga Chaitanya. The saree belonged to Chaitanya's grandmother. and Samantha didn't want to keep anything that belonged to her ex-husband and his family.
It was reported that Samantha had made the entire family proud by sporting the family heirloom saree on her big day. The final touches on it was done by her best friend, Kresha Bajaj. The ex-couple had got married in Goa in a grand ceremony.

On October 2, 2021, Samantha and Chaitanya had announced their divorce. Their statement could be read as "To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought, Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship, which we believe will always hold a special bond between us."
Samantha and Naga had also requested their fans to give them privacy during these times. The note could be further read, "We request our fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Samantha will be next seen in Gunasekhar film's Shaakuntalam.
