Samantha Ruth Prabhu is gearing up to take a year-long break from films to recover fully from Myositis. However, she will reportedly be suffering a huge financial loss due to the same.
Pan-Indian actress, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been counted as one of the most successful stars of her generation. While her acting prowess does not need any introduction, she has also been winning hearts with her beauty and charming personality. However, the fans of the actress have been recently under a massive heartbreak, as Samantha would be taking a break from acting, so as to fully recover from her auto-immune health condition of Myositis. While her absence from the silver screen is certainly difficult to imagine, it now seems that the actress might be in for a huge financial loss due to her hiatus.
According to multiple reports, Samantha will be jetting off to the US for her treatment of Myositis by the first week of August 2023. In fact, Samantha has even wrapped up all her pending work schedules before her break, and has even stopped taking any new projects for the time being. Moreover, she has even returned any pending advance money from producers before her break. And now, according to the latest report by Great Andhra.com, Samantha will be suffering from a huge financial loss due to the break, and the total potential loss could be around Rs. 12 crores or more. The report further stated:
“Given that Samantha typically charges between Rs 3.5 and Rs 4 crore per film, and considering that she recently signed three projects, her potential loss amounts to anywhere between Rs 10 and Rs 12 crore.”

Well, Samantha is a committed person when it comes to her work as an actor, and so, she ensured to fulfil all her pending film schedules, advertisements and other works before going for her break. She has two upcoming films in the pipeline, both in which she has completed her leg of shooting. While her Telugu film, Kushi along with Vijay Deverakonda is slated for a September 2023 release. Samantha, on the other hand has also wrapped up her schedule for the Indian instalment of the American crime thriller series, Citadel, starring Varun Dhawan.
On July 19, 2023, Samantha dropped the first glimpse of herself, as she embarked on her healing journey. She visited the iconic Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu to engage in yoga for mindful and spiritual healing. She dropped glimpses as she took part in meditation, chanting and yoga sessions, which were totally unmissable. She also shared a glimpse of the serene environment of the centre, and called it the ‘best thing’.

It was on July 13, 2023, when Samantha gave the first ever hint of her break from acting. She shared a picture of herself, along with the filmmaker duo, Raj and DK and screenwriter, Sita Menon on her social media handle, and it was through her caption that she addressed her hiatus. It could be read as:
“A break doesn’t seem like a bad thing at all when you know what’s coming @rajanddk @mensit The family I didn’t know I needed. Thank you for helping me fight every single battle and never ever giving up on me... I wish more than anything in the world to make you proud... Thank you for the role of a lifetime... i.e until you write me the next.”
