Samantha Ruth Prabhu suffered another heartbreak as her father, Joseph Prabhu, passed away on November 29, 2024. The cause of death is not yet known, but it seems to be a difficult time for the actress as she has just been back to films after taking a break due to her health condition. Samantha penned a heart-wrenching note for him.
There is nothing tougher than seeing your parents leave for the heavenly abode. Samantha faced the same heartbreak. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Samantha shared an emotional note with a 'broken heart' emoji, which can be read as:
"Until we meet again, dad."
For the uninitiated, Samantha Ruth Prabhu's father, Joseph Prabhu, was a Telugu Anglo-Indian. The actress is extremely close to him, as he has played an important role in her life. Despite her work commitments, Samantha always talks about her family and the support they always give her.
A while ago, Samantha talked about her bumpy relationship with her father, Joseph Prabhu, and how it has affected her. In an interview with Galatta India, Samantha shared that she struggled to get validation from him all her life. She stated that her father would often tell her that she wasn't smart, which made her believe that she actually wasn't smart for a long time. She said:
"All my life growing up, I had to fight for validation. My father was kind of like… I think most Indian parents are like that. They think they’re protecting you. He actually told me, ‘You’re not that smart. This is just the standard of Indian education. That’s why even you can get a first rank.’ When you say that to a child, I really believed for the longest time that I’m not smart and not good enough."
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya parted ways in October 2021. And more than, Samantha, it was her late father, Joseph Prabhu, who found it hard to come terms with his daughter's divorce. In 2022, he shared throwback wedding pictures of his daughter and added that it took him a long time to accept it. But he was hopeful about his daughter's new chapter.
