Sameera Reddy Pens A Long Note On Her PPD, Reveals She Couldn't Be Happy Post Her Son's Birth

Bollywood actress, Sameera Reddy is a social media influencer, and she often shares her life's struggles and overcoming stories with her huge fanbase. For the unversed, she had tied the knot with a businessman, Akshai Varde in 2014. Later, the couple had embraced parenthood for the first time with their son, Hans in 2015. And had welcomed their second child, a daughter, Nyra in 2019. Post her pregnancies, Sameera has been inspiring the new mommies with her parenting and post-pregnancy tips, and recently she opened up about her postpartum stress.

One look at Sameera Reddy's social media handles, and we can get a handful of mesmerising glimpses from her life. On August 5, 2021, the hands-on mommy had taken to her IG handle and had shared a beautiful throwback video featuring her kids, Hans and Nyra. In the video, Sameera's elder son was seen holding his newborn little sister, Nyra in his arms. Along with the video, the doting mommy revealed that it was the first face-to-face meeting of her kids and had penned:

"I will hold her hand & never let it go mama Jab they met Hans & Nyra I wanted to share one of the most important moments of my life. Introducing my son to his lil."

A few hours ago, Sameera Reddy took to her IG handle and shared a collage of two pictures holding her baby boy, Hans in her arms. In the first picture, she was seen performing some ritual along with her son, and in both the glimpses, Sameera was seen flaunting a no-makeup look along with her gained pregnancy weight. Sharing the pictures, Sameera revealed her mental illnesses, which included depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, postpartum stress and many more, in the caption. She also mentioned that the pictures were from the time when she had felt the lowest. She also added that she couldn't feel happy after Hans' birth. Her caption can be read as:

"Even though mental illnesses can’t be seen, they exist . Mental health awareness refers to a wide range of mental health conditions — disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior such as Depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PPD etc . For me Postpartum stress was hard and i did not act fast enough because I was unaware it existed . The pics I shared in this post was me at my lowest. I couldn’t feel happy however hard I tried after the birth of my first child . I still reflect on these moments and it only drives me harder to reach out to anyone not feeling good about themselves. You are not alone . And being there for each other in tough times is so important."

Further, in the note, Sameera mentioned a long list of items which the new mommies can do to help themselves while going through the post-delivery period. She talked about the positive community, healthy conversations, peaceful sleep, and much more. She also revealed that homoeopathy had helped her deal with it. Finally, Sameera concluded the long note to mark the mental health awareness month as:

"What can we do to help ourselves & others? - Take care of yourself & be aware of your emotional Health. - Listen without judgement. - Share your story. - Create a community that supports a safe space for healthy conversations. - Getting 8 hours of sleep per night. - Less screen time. - Spend quiet time to reflect on what’s bothering you. - being mindful of what you eat. - Exercising for 30-minutes. - Journal your thoughts. - Saying no to something you don’t want to do. - Decluttering your space. - Learning a new skill. - reach out to a friend , family or seek professional. . Try holistic approach with natural therapy ( I believe homeopathy really helped me ) #mentalhealthawarenessmonth."

Sameera is a loving wife, and a doting mother and glimpses of the same are found on her social media handle. On September 20, 2021, Sameera had taken to her IG handle and had posted pictures from her Goa vacation with hubby, Akshai and kids, Hans and Nyra. Sameera looked stunning in the pictures as she had flaunted her beautiful figure in a black and white striped monokini. She captioned the pictures as:

"Cartwheels & Sandcastle still dreaming of the weekend but it’s back to the monday grind family vacays are the bestest."
