Sanaya Irani Shared Her Husband, Mohit Sehgal Helped Her Fight For Equal Pay At 'Miley Jab Hum Tum'

Sanaya Irani shared how her husband, Mohit Sehgal encouraged her to fight for equal pay for the serial, 'Miley Jab Hum Tum'.

Sanaya Irani is one of the most prominent names in the entertainment industry. She has been a part of several hit television series and films, but her young drama series, Miley Jab Hum Tum, co-starring her husband, Mohit Sehgal, will forever be iconic. Recently, in an interview with Hauterrfly, Sanaya talked about pay parity in the industry and how her husband helped her to battle it.

Sanaya Irani shared that Mohit Sehgal helped her to combat pay parity 

Pay discrimination is a common debate in every industry, and for years, women have been battling against it. Even though today, women match up with men and equally contribute to every sector, they are still paid less, and Sanaya Irani has to face the same. In a conversation with Hauterrfly, Sanaya shared that when the serial, Miley Jab Hum Tum started, she got paid more than Mohit as he was a newcomer.

The show went on for three years, and after a year, Mohit's pay increased and almost matched Sanaya's. However, during the second year, Mohit's fee surpassed Sanaya's, which disturbed the actress as they all worked the same hours for the show. After learning about the pay parity, Mohit encouraged Sanaya to demand equal pay from the production company and pushed her to talk to the authorities.

After getting the much-needed push from Mohit, Sanaya went to talk to Endemol. The actress shared that the authorities cooperated with her and readily agreed to increase her pay.

Sanaya Irani and Mohit Sehgal met on the sets of their serial, Miley Jab Hum Tum, where they played romantic leads opposite each other. The two bonded perfectly well, and after being friends for three months, they transitioned to lovers. The duo tied the knot on June 25, 2016.
