They had been friends since childhood, and their parents had been close for three generations. Sania and Sohrab were all set to make it to the aisle, but they couldn’t, due to some differences.

"Differences between us cropped up right from the word go. After the engagement, we realised we were completely incompatible although we had known each other for around six years and our families have been friends for three generations. The broken engagement didn't come out of the blue. I saw it coming!"

He also cleared the air and mentioned if Sania’s immense stardom was a problem for Sohrab’s family. He said that Sania might be a celebrity to the outside world, but she was a simple girl for him, and he was super proud of her. Sohrab added that Sania’s fame had never hurt his ego because he was from a business background and she was from sports. In his words:

“She was a celebrity for the world, but for me she was a simple girl. She has worked so hard to achieve what she has and I'm proud of her achievements. But, I also run a decent business, so there was no competition between us."

However, Sania’s father did not agree to their terms and didn’t want his daughter to sacrifice her career for love. Hence, misunderstandings grew between the two families, and they ended up calling off the engagement.

Eventually, Sania found the love of her life, Shoaib Malik and got married to him in a lavish wedding. Together, they have a son named Izhaan Mirza Malik.
