It was on April 12, 2010, when Indian tennis sensation and World No. 1 doubles player, Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer and former captain, Shoaib Malik had said qubool hai in a private wedding ceremony, blurring the geographical lines between the two nations. Ever since Shoaib and Sania became each other’s forever, they have stood by each other through thick and thin. Despite being blamed for each other’s performances, Sania and Shoaib overcame every obstacle like a perfect team! Be it as individuals, husband and wife, or as parents, Sania and Shoaib are major goals for everyone out there.
Due to the overnight lockdown imposed in the countries, a lot of people got stuck where they were, away from their families while some were lucky to be with their loved ones. Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik are lucky to be with their respective families in Hyderabad and Pakistan, but away from each other. But more than the thought of being with each other, Sania and Shoaib are clueless when will their son, Izhaan Mirza Malik, who is staying with his amma will be able to meet his father. But Sania and Shoaib believe in staying positive and are practical people, who understand that they are where they’re meant to be.
In the conversation with The Indian Express on Facebook Live, Sania Mirza has talked about the situation of lockdown and has said, “So he got stuck in Pakistan, I got stuck here. That was very difficult to deal with because we have a small child. We don’t know when Izhaan will be able to see his father again. It’s as basic as that. We are both pretty positive and practical people. He has a mother who is over 65 and by herself, so he needs to be there. So in the end, it worked out best that he was there with her. We hope we are healthy and come out of this on the right side of it.” (Also Read: Neha Dhupia Reveals If Mehr Is A Daddy's Girl Or Mommy's, Angad Bedi Reveals Whom He Loves The Most)
Sania Mirza is experiencing many emotions simultaneously and tennis, at the moment, does not occupy the prime space in her mind. Sania elaborated, “I don’t have anxiety problems but a couple of nights ago, I was having anxiety out of nothing. I was lying in bed and thinking of things because there’s so much uncertainty. Having a toddler in the house, you don’t know how to protect yourself, how to protect your child, you have parents who are older. So, you are not really thinking about work or tennis.”
8 years into marital bliss, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik had embraced parenthood last year in 2018 with the arrival of ‘Baby Mirza Malik’. On October 30, 2018, Shoaib and Sania welcomed their baby boy, Izhaan Mirza Malik and since then, their lives have been revolving around their little munchkin. Managing the long-distance marriage like pros, Sania and Shoaib make sure that their little one, Izhaan don’t miss on the precious time with either of his parents. In February 2020, Sania had given a glimpse of the father-son moment. Posting an IG story, Sania had shared a black-and-white picture of Shoaib and Izhaan, and it had made us wonder how time flies with a blink of an eye.
When Izhaan Mirza Malik had turned 1, his star parents, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik had hosted a birthday bash in Dubai. Sania’s father, Imran Mirza had posted a video, in which we could spot Sania helping her little one cut his Mickey Mouse-themed birthday cake while Shoaib had held him in his arms. Wishing Izhaan on his first birthday, Sania had written, “Exactly one year since you came into this world and became our world... you smiled the first day you were born and continue to spread smiles everywhere you go... my truest, purest most amazing boy... I LOVE YOU and I promise to be by your side until my last breath... Happy Birthday my little angel. I pray Allah gives you everything you work towards and desire and continue to grow into the most loving and gentle boy that you already are... InshaAllah... Thank you for choosing us my little Izhaan #HappybirthdayIzhaan.” The proud daddy, Shoaib had shared a picture from the birthday bash, holding Izhaan in his arms, and had written, “Salgira Mubarak to my little man. May Allah bless always you my jaan” followed by a heart emoji. (Also Read: Shilpa Shetty's Son, Viaan Raj Kundra Performs The Perfect Gymnastic Back Flip, Making Her Proud)
