Amid the ongoing rumours of Sania Mirza and Mohammed Shami's wedding, the former's father breaks silence on the same. Moreover, the truth behind their alleged wedding pictures is also revealed.
Indian tennis sensation, Sania Mirza tied the knot with Shoaib Malik in 2010, and the couple embraced parenthood with the arrival of their son, Izhaan Mirza Malik, in 2018. However, on January 20, 2024, Shoaib announced his third wedding to Pakistani actress, Sana Javed, leaving the entire nation shocked. For some time now, rumours have been rife that Sania, too, has found love again in her life and tied the knot with Indian cricketer, Mohammed Shami.
While Sania Mirza's ugly separation from Shoaib is known to all, not many know that Shami also separated from his wife, Haseen Jahan. Now, Sania Mirza's father, Imran, reacted to the rumours of his daughter's marriage to Shami and called it a wild guess. In a candid conversation with NDTV, Sania Mirza's father rejected the rumours and said:
“This is all rubbish. She has not even met him.”

Meanwhile, a picture of Sania Mirza and Mohammed Shami's alleged wedding went viral on social media. On June 12, 2023, a Facebook user shared a morphed image from Sania's first marriage in 2010, in which Shoaib Malik’s face was superimposed and replaced by Shami’s, and claimed that the two athletes were married. However, a fact-checking initiative from the Centre for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ) Karachi conducted a reverse image search and claimed that the viral picture was an edited version of Sania’s 2010 wedding photo with Shoaib Malik.
Sania Mirza took a khula from Shoaib Malik, but she and her family didn't talk about her divorce for long. However, it was after Shoaib's wedding with Sana Javed that the Mirza family broke their silence for the first time. On January 21, 2024, Sania's sister, Anam Mirza, shared a picture note on Instagram and mentioned how Sania always kept her personal life under wraps. Anam further revealed that Sania got separated from Shoaib a few months back, and requested privacy from fans during this sensitive time on her behalf.

Sania Mirza currently stays in Dubai with her adorable son, Izhaan Mirza Malik, and being a doting mommy, she continues to give her child the best life possible. On May 21, 2024, she shared a series of photos featuring all the wonderful memories she made in recent days. The photo dump also featured Sania's new nameplate with her and her son, Izhaan’s names on it. We could also see Sania's multiple selfies with Izhaan, one from their car ride, and the other from the latter's haircut session. Meanwhile, a picture showed two coffee cups with a note that reads, ‘Choose to be happy’ while another one had ‘Fueled by caffeine and sarcasm’, written on it.
