While some celebrities are making their fans rejoice from their wedding news, some are making announcements of the arrival of their little munchkins. After Shahid Kapoor and Mira Kapoor, another celebrity who is all set to embrace motherhood is none other than ace tennis star, Sania Mirza.
Setting up a perfect example of a cross-nation love story, Sania Mirza tied the knot with the former captain of Pakistan cricket team, Shoaib Malik. And after 8 years of marital bliss, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik are all set to welcome their first child. Sania and Shoaib took it to their Instagram and announced this good news with a cute picture, and wrote, “#BabyMirzaMalik”.

At the Goa Fest 2018, Sania expressed that her child would not only take his/her father’s family name (i.e. Malik) forward, but will have ‘Mirza Malik’ as the surname. Sania Mirza was quoted as saying, “Today I will tell you a secret. My husband and I have spoken about it and we have decided that whenever we have a child, the child will have Mirza Malik as a surname and not just Malik. Emphasizing on the fact that family names can be taken forward by daughters as well, Sania stated, “I have not changed my surname (post marriage) and my name is still Sania Mirza and it will remain that way. The family name is going to go forward.” In an interview with the TV journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, he asked Sania about when she is going to settle down, “You don’t talk about retirement, about raising a family, about motherhood, what’s life beyond tennis is going to be..” she gave a perfect reply to this sexist question. Sania Mirza answered, “You sound disappointed that I’m not choosing motherhood over being number one in the world at this point of time. But I’ll answer your question anyway, that’s the question I face all the time as a woman, that all women have to face — the first is marriage and then it’s motherhood. Unfortunately, that’s when we’re settled, and no matter how many Wimbledons we win or number ones in the world we become, we don’t become settled. But eventually, it will happen, not right now. Earlier in an interview, Sania clarified the reason why she got married in such a hurry with Shoaib, and remarked, "People can date a person for years but break up as soon as they get married. It happens a lot in Hyderabad, and it happens in the circles we move around in. Some people can date each other for a month and get married. I know many couples like that and they have kids today. Destiny! We were lucky we found each other, decided quickly and felt the same way about one another."
