Indian Tennis player, Sania Mirza played her last Grand Slam match in Melbourne. However, it was her husband, Shoaib Malik, who praised her with an emotional tweet.
The ace Tennis player, Sania Mirza played the last Grand Slam of her illustrious career in Melbourne, Australia, on January 27, 2023. The Tennis icon played the Mixed Doubles final with Rohan Bopanna at the Australian Open 2023. However, Sania’s last Grand Slam match turned into defeat after they lost the game 6-7(2) 2-6 to the Brazilian ace pair, Rafael Mataos and Luisa Stefani. Despite losing the final, Sania received a huge round of applause from the spectators at the Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne.
As soon as the event ended, Sania Mirza’s husband and former Pakistan cricketer, Shoaib Malik took to his Twitter handle and penned a note for his wife. In his emotional tweet, Shoaib lauded Sania for her illustrious and inspiring career and admitted that she will always be the much-needed hope for all the women, who want a career in sports around the globe.

Not only this, but Shoaib Malik also admitted in his emotional tweet that he is ‘super proud’ of his wife for all the titles, awards, and accolades she has achieved in her career. In the end, Shoaib congratulated Sania Mirza on her unbelievable career. His tweet can be read as:

After the end of her last Grand Slam match, Sania Mirza opened up about her future as a Tennis player and admitted that it wasn’t the last time people are watching her in action. The Tennis star admitted that it was an end to her professional Grand Slam career, but she would continue to play Tennis in major tournaments until February 2023. It was an emotional moment for Sania and her million fans, who were listening to his historic speech from the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
"If I cry, these are happy tears. That’s just a disclaimer. I'm still going to play a couple of more tournaments."
