Ace tennis player, Sania Mirza finally announced her retirement with a heartmelting note, and revealed the reason behind it.
Sania Mirza, who has been living the life of her dream as a sportsperson, has announced her retirement. It's been twenty years since Sania made her fellow citizens proud with her game. The ace tennis player penned a heartmelting note as she retires from tennis. She also revealed the reason behind it and how her son, Izhaan Mirza Malik, needs her more now.
On January 13, 2022, Sania took to her Instagram handle and announced her retirement. She penned her feelings in a long picture note. Sania revealed that thirty years ago, when she was six-year-old, she had fought with her school coach to teach her tennis. She expressed how fortunate she is to play for her country and win medals for it.

Sania also expressed her gratitude to her parents, sister, coaches and fans for always supporting her. The famous tennis player added that it had been twenty years since she had been playing professionally. Sania also revealed that in 2005, she played her first grand slam at Australian Open and will play her last at Australian Open this year.
Sania also revealed the reason behind her retirement. She shares that her son, Izhaan, is growing up, and he needs her the most at this point in his life. Sania also expressed her desire to live a 'slightly quieter and 'calmer life'. She captioned the post:

Sania has been planning to resign for a long time. Last year in January, she had expressed her desire to resign. During a press conference, after the game on Court 5 at Melbourne Park, Sania announced her retirement. The gorgeousness revealed that her body is wearing off, and she feels it takes longer to recover after an injury. Sania also shared that she is also putting her then 3-year-old son at many risks by travelling with him.
For those who don't know, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik are no longer together. The reports of their divorce have been doing rounds since November 2022. However, the couple has not yet confirmed the same because of their work commitments.
