If you thought that it is hard to deal with a woman who is PMSing, you probably wouldn’t have experienced a pregnant woman’s crazy food cravings! Even the B-town divas, who are on a healthy diet and rigorous workout to maintain their figure, can’t help but give in to the pregnancy syndromes. After Shahid Kapoor’s darling wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor shared about her third-trimester food cravings, another diva shared about her pregnancy craving on social media.
Grand Slam winner and Indian tennis star, Sania Mirza is currently enjoying her third trimester and is due in October. Sania announced her pregnancy on social media through a unique post on Instagram, and captioned it, “#BabyMirzaMalik”. From playing a match of Tennis with her sister, Anam Mirza to working out with her baby bump, Sania has been keeping herself fit throughout her pregnancy journey.
And now, at midnight, Sania posted an Insta story about the pregnancy problems of her midnight food cravings. She shared a picture of her midnight food craving i.e., boondi ke ladoo. Check it out here:
Earlier talking about her pregnancy cravings, Sania had cited, “I have gone off sweets like chocolates and that’s good because I would have put on more weight otherwise. But what I crave a lot is spicy food. I am loving those sour ‘chatpatta’ [snacks] stuff like bhel puri. I have gone off red meat too. I am working with a dietician to try to control my weight. I need to get back to playing as soon as possible and therefore I would like to control it [the weight gain].”
Also, Sania snacks on energy bars made from jaggery and dry fruits, and she also manages to drink one glass of milk daily. She revealed, “Calcium is a big must in the third trimester. What you eat reaches the child, so eat what you feel like but make sure it is healthy. I also have a lot of yoghurt because it is great for acidity and because I don’t like milk. Plain yoghurt is non-fattening, has no sugar and full of calcium. Regardless of whether you are pregnant or not, my dietician recommends flaxseed for everyone and I get my fix through roasted flaxseed crackers with an Indian spice tadka.” (Also Read: Mom-To-Be Sania Mirza Is A Little Sad And Feeling Nostalgic - Here's Why!)
Further sharing her pregnancy experience, Sania stated, “While every woman’s body reacts differently to pregnancy, it’s unfair to think that you are handicapped for nine months. I’d recommend using this time to prepare your body for the changes that are going to happen in the following months. Begin by staying active and live a normal life; that’s what I did.”
And elaborating the best part about her pregnancy, she remarked, “Now, I’m just giving my body the rest it needs and waking up whenever I feel like — usually between 9 am and 10 am — so that I feel refreshed. Since sleep at night is hard to come by, especially in the third trimester, there is no point in stressing yourself out in the morning.”
About practising yoga, Sania shared, “Yoga isn’t just for the body but for the mind as well — it keeps you physically and mentally fit which is crucial at this stage. The asanas you practice, especially in your second and third trimester, teach you to breathe correctly during labour.” She further added, “Before becoming pregnant, I used to push my body to perform even when I experienced pain but I don’t any more. It took a while to train my mind that I won’t be able to do even five per cent of what I could before and that it’s okay. With pregnancy, priorities change and you have to adapt to the fact that your body is altering while creating something within and that it requires energy. In my case, I had to relax and refrain from routine activities — everybody’s ‘routine’ is different — which were hyper.” (Also Read: Mommy-To-Be Sania Mirza Is Enjoying Her Last Days Of Pregnancy, Shares Her Diet And Health Regimes)
Sania believes that getting prenatal care is very important for a woman. Further adding on the same, she explained, “For a smooth pregnancy, you need prenatal experts who know what’s right or wrong for you at each stage. My dietician says this is the time that the body craves for things it lacks. So when it asks for something too often, maybe you should oblige. I’ve been off processed sugar for the last 3-4 years so thankfully, I don’t miss sugar as much. But when I long for it, I have it in small quantities.” Sania shared her pregnancy diet and said, “I included a lot of greens in my diet — something I wasn’t having enough of. My mother ate an apple a day for both her pregnancies and I do that too.”
We wish mommy-to-be, Sania Mirza a healthy pregnancy!
