Earlier, she had posted a heartfelt note about how parenthood feels, in which she wrote, “So it’s been 5 days since we came into this world .. Me as a mother and my little Izhaan as my son we’ve even watched Baba play some cricket together since we’ve arrived it truly is the biggest match, tournament achievement I’ve ever won or had and there is no feeling or blessing that can be greater than this.. I finally have gotten sometime after this overwhelming feeling to get online and check the msgs and love we have received. Shoaib and I feel truly blessed and humbled with the wishes and love that us as parents and Izhaan have received Thank you to each and every one of you ..we love you right back! In an interview with Femina, Sania shared her recent journey of becoming a mother. The player said, “The experience was good—it was overwhelming and different. I think, as women, we underestimate our bodies and what they can do, and I had that self-realisation. I feel privileged that I was able to go through it. I had a decently easy pregnancy if there is such a thing.” (Also Read: Avinash Sachdev Is Apparently Dating Palak Of 'Dil Hi Toh Hai' Fame After Divorcing Shalmalee (Pics))

Sania further gave a strong message to young girls and women. She stated, “The most important thing I would like to say to girls and women is that you have to choose what you feel is right. There are certain cultural dos and don’ts that we are subjected to as girls while growing up, and even as adults after we have grown up. There is no right or wrong from that perspective, you have to go by what you feel.”

Earlier, in an Interview with The Times Of India, Sania had talked about her excitement of stepping into another phase but she will not be giving up her dreams. She stated, “I am excited about motherhood, but I am not giving up on my dreams and career. It’s just that I suffered a knee injury last year and couldn’t play much tennis. I have always wanted to be a mother and both Shoaib and I felt that the time was right; we were ready to be parents. However, that doesn’t mean I will stop doing what I have been doing for so many years. The plan is to get back to the game after delivery. And, I am not the only tennis player to do that. Serena Williams was back after she became a mother and there have been many others, too. Just like most working women resume their jobs after delivery, we would also like to return to the game. Mary Kom returned to boxing after having three kids, so it all depends on the person. We are prejudiced against women returning to work after having children. Having said that, I will not pursue tennis at the cost of neglecting my child.” (Don't Miss: Isha Ambani Reveals She And Twin Bro, Akash Are IVF Babies Born 7 Years After Nita-Mukesh's Marriage)
