Sanjay Dutt Denied Dating Madhuri Dixit, Asked Her To Care For Her Kids At Home, 'Kya Acting Karni?'

Once, Sanjay Dutt made a controversial remark against Madhuri Dixit and asked her to quit acting and look after her kids at home.

Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt has a long dating history, and his much talked about affair was with Madhuri Dixit. The actor, who has been married thrice, once revealed to have dated 308 ladies. For the unversed, Sanjay and Madhuri's relationship was the talk of the town in the ‘90s. The two had reportedly fallen for each other while shooting for their film, Saajan, in 1991 and also wanted to get married. However, Sanjay was arrested in the TADA case in 1993, which ended his relationship with Madhuri.

Anil Kapoor claimed that he has a soft corner for Madhuri Dixit

During his appearance on Karan Johar’s popular chat show, Koffee With Karan, Sanjay Dutt shared his unfiltered opinions on Madhuri Dixit. In a controversial video that surfaced on Reddit, Sanjay can be seen sharing the couch with Anil Kapoor. During the show, Karan mentioned that Madhuri Dixit developed a different accent when she moved to the US after marriage. The host further asked Sanjay if he had any updates about Madhuri, but the latter denied it. Anil quipped:

“We (him and Sanjay) both have a… I don’t know about him, but I have a soft corner for Madhuri. I cannot take any criticism about Madhuri Dixit.”

The host further went on to clarify that he wasn’t criticising Madhuri, but rather the word 'accent' was meant to be a compliment. Reacting to Anil's statement, Karan was heard saying, “Of course, he (Sanjay) has had a soft corner for Madhuri Dixit.” To this, Anil added:

“We (him and Sanjay) still love Madhuri.”

Sanjay Dutt said Madhuri Dixit should quit acting

Karan then asked Sanjay, “You still love her?”, and the latter replied, “Of course.” The host, who was eager to know about the ex-couple's equation, further asked, “Have you met her? She’s back in town.” Responding to it, Sanjay made a controversial remark and said that Madhuri Dixit should stop acting and go back to the US to take care of her kids. He was heard saying:

“No, yeah I heard. I just want to tell her to go home and take care of the kids. Be with the children, abhi kya acting karni hai?”

Anil Kapoor hinted at Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit's romance

Anil Kapoor was apparently shocked and retorted, “Aise mat kar yaar, Sanjay. Aise kyu bhej raha hai?” Karan then jokingly mentioned that Anil and Sanjay had a “Madhuri Dixit factor” between them. Anil said, “Actually the only time I was jealous of Sanjay was that time.” Then, Karan asked:

“Because of the rumours between Sanju and Madhuri? Which we never confirmed on record by the way. They were just good friend.”

Sanjay Dutt denied dating Madhuri Dixit

As Karan didn't get any answer, he further asked Sanjay, “Were you just good friends?” Responding to it, Sanjay denied dating Madhuri Dixit in the past and mentioned that they were just good friends. He also admitted to having met the actress and her kids at the India Day parade in Chicago and said:

“Good friends, yeah… I’m very happy that she’s settled and I’ve met the kids… We did that India Day parade in Chicago and I met the kids.”

Years after their breakup, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit worked opposite each other in the 2019 film, Kalank. Directed under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions banner, the film marked Madhuri and Sanjay’s reunion on screen.
