Sanjay Dutt re-married Maanayata Dutt after sixteen years of marital bliss during an intimate puja ceremony at their home.
Sanjay Dutt is loved for his amazing acting and strong presence in Hindi cinema. The actor successfully established himself in the film industry courtesy of his character portrayals in films like Lage Raho Munnabhai, Agnipath, and many more. Apart from his professional life, his personal life often becomes the talk of the nation. The 65-year-old superstar has been married thrice, and recently, he renewed his wedding vows.
Sanjay Dutt married his longtime girlfriend, Maayata Dutt, in 2008, in Goa. Recently, he re-lived the day again by re-marrying his wife, Maayata Dutt, during a puja ceremony at their home after a heartfelt home renovation. In the video that has been doing rounds, we could see Sanjay dressed in a saffron kurta with a matching dhoti.
On the other hand, Maanyata Dutt wore a cream-toned, colourful suit and covered her head with a matching dupatta. The couple was seen taking saath pheras as Panditji recited the mantras, marking their union again. Another highlight in the video was how Sanjay held his wife, Maanyata's hand throughout the ceremony.
For the uninitiated, Maanayata Dutt was born into a Muslim family in Mumbai. Her real name is Dilnawaz Sheik. Not many know that she appeared in an item song in Prakash Jha's film Gangaajal in 2003. Her parents parted ways when she was young. Once, Maanayta revealed that growing up, she had decided that when she would get married, she would make it work.
Sanjay Dutt's sisters were not happy when he married Maanayata Dutt in 2008. In an interview with the IANS in 2009, Maanyata Dutt revealed that neither she nor Sanjay Dutt wanted to push his sisters to accept Maanayata. She was quoted as saying:
"Sanju knows I've tried to do as much in my capacity to find acceptance with his sisters. Beyond that, he wouldn't like me to push myself to try any further. Neither would I."
Sanjay Dutt's personal life includes three marriages. He was married to Richa Sharma in 1987. The couple has a daughter, Trishala Dutt, who lives in the United States and is a psychologist. However, Richa Sharma passed away in 1996 due to a brain tumour.
Later, Sanjay Dutt got married for the second time to Riya Pillai, an air hostess and model. However, their wedding ended on a sour note in 2008. In the same year, Sanjay Dutt got married to Maanyata Dutt. After two years of marriage, they were blessed with twins.
