As much as we love our siblings, sometimes we tend to grow apart from them as we grow old. We stop sharing things with them, don’t open up with them about any of our issues and mostly neglect them for our new friends. No matter how much we try but sometimes, somethings remain unsaid between siblings and it becomes difficult for us to bring back the same emotion and feelings for one another. But no matter how apart we grow, we still feel protective about each other and will secretly wish for one another’s goodwill. (Recommended Read: Deepika Padukone Recalls How She Had Felt Depressed Despite Having A Supporting Family And Ranveer)

One such bitter-sweet relationship is shared between Sanjay Dutt and his sisters, Priya Dutt and Namrata Dutt. Sanjay Dutt has taken forward the legacy of his late father, Sunil Dutt but more than his professional stints, he is remembered for his TADA case and his drug addiction. Sanjay was trapped in various cases and has been fighting with them and we have always spotted his family supporting him and standing by his side in difficult times. Sanjay has always maintained a healthy and strong bond with his sisters, Priya and Namrata but it was during 2009 that the trio had faced problems in their relationship and were not talking to each other.

Sanjay Dutt had also tried his hand in politics just like his elder sister, Priya Dutt. But to everyone’s surprise, he had chosen a different party and his sister, Priya was miffed by his step. And later when Sanjay had decided to tie the knot third time and this time with Bollywood actress, Maanayata Dutt, his sisters, Priya and Namrata were disappointed with his decision. Priya and Namrata didn’t even attend his wedding. Sanjay had lost his calm when his sister, Priya had insulted Maanayata in public and was quoted as saying, “She is not his wife. She is not even the daughter-in-law of Sunil and Nargis Dutt as Singh claims. She is just some woman who has trapped my brother."

Sanjay Dutt was hurt by his sister, Priya Dutt’s statement and in an interview with the TOI, had talked about the same. He was quoted as saying, “My sister Priya (Dutt) has denied that she is against my wife. Being the eldest member of the family, along with Maanayata, I forgive Priya even if she has any anger towards us. Priya is my blood and nothing can change that. However, Maanayata is Sunil Dutt and Nargis' daughter-in-law and there are no two ways about it! There are only one Mr & Mrs Dutt in Pali Hill and that's Maanayata and I." Gradually things got better and now they are one big happy family!

In September 2019, Maanayata Dutt, in an interview with the Bombay Times had talked about Sanjay Dutt’s rapport with his father, Sunil Dutt and how her sister-in-law, Priya Dutt had revealed the unsaid between them. She was quoted as saying, “I remember that my sister-in-law, Priya, once told me that their father (Sunil Dutt) would often say, ‘Sanju ne itna drugs kiya hai ki uska dimaag grow hona bandh ho gaya hai’. Sanju always says that his dad loved Priya more, but I feel that his father had that unspoken love for him. Priya would tell me how dad would defend him and say these lines. So, I still feel that he is young, and I am dealing with three kids at home. Shahraan, Iqra (their twins) and Sanju gang up together. At home, the kids are supposed to have pizza and burgers only over the weekend, but he breaks that rule and allows it on weekdays, too. You see what I mean!” (Must Read: Dipika Kakar Ibrahim Borrowing Her Hubby, Shoaib Ibrahim's Sweater And Slaying It Is Every Wife Ever)
