Gone are the days when fathers were the scary being and we used to only communicate to them when we needed something. The millennial fathers have turned into 'papa bears' and make sure to be the guiding light for their kids at every step. From changing diapers to taking their kids for shopping, the new-age daddies are giving a tough competition to moms. And Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt is a perfect example of it. Sanjay Dutt had a rollercoaster relationship with his own late father, Sunil Dutt, but he is making sure that his kids never go through the same journey. We remember in an interview, Sanjay had shared that he is extremely proud of his three children, Trishala, Iqra and Shahran and always look forward to spending time with them. The actor, who once had a dark past, has turned into a complete family man for his wife, Manyata Dutt.
On October 21, 2019, Sanjay's children, Shahraan and Iqra turned nine and the actor took to his Instagram handle to share a lovely note for them. He posted a monochrome picture with his twins, and wrote, "There's no greater joy for me than spending time with my precious, Shahraan & Iqra. I love you both. Happy birthday. #ProudDad." Take a look at the picture below:
Sanjay had spent three years of jail term after the birth of his twins, Shahraan and Iqra. In an interview, he had shared how difficult it was for him to stay away from them. He had said, "When I was in jail, it was very difficult for me to not see my children for three years. There were moments when I really wanted to see them. My wife used to say, 'Main unko leke aati hoon'. But I told her, 'Never, unko yahan kabhi mat lana, I don't want them here'. I didn't want them to see me in torn clothes and the topi. I didn't want them to live with that image. Aaj kal ke bachche bahut smart ho gaye hain, bolte thay 'Papa ko photo wala phone lagao.'" We remember in an interview with the HT brunch, Sanjay Dutt had shared that he wanted to be a strict father when his wife, Manyata Dutt was pregnant but when he saw his kids, he realised he can never be that. The actor loves spoiling them and in the interview, he had shared, "When Manyata was pregnant, I always thought I would be a damn strict dad. But with them, I just can’t be that! Although I do spoil them a bit, I make sure that when Manyata is scolding them, I don’t become the peace broker. I don’t interfere. It is wrong to play good cop/bad cop. But yes, after two-three hours, dad might get them a box of chocolates."
Sanjay had also shared how he is loving every moment of being a father and how he wants to inculcate good habits in them. He had stated, "It is a great feeling to just see them grow up. It is amusing when they talk like grown-ups and try to act all mature…especially when they order their own food at restaurants! And they are so tech-savvy already! Although, thankfully their interaction with the iPad is still restricted to games. We don’t waste time with them. They go to school, then they go for swimming, they have their karate classes. I want Iqra to learn the piano, and Shahraan to play the guitar."
Sanjay is amazed to see that his daughter has learnt to cook pancakes and is deciding his clothes for him. He had said, "The other day, Iqra made some cupcakes for me, can you believe that! Now they have even started to decide what I should wear. They pick my T-shirts when we go shopping. They get me toys also! Yesterday Shahraan was very categorical about what we should wear for the shoot today, and he also told me to wear these boots so that they match his!"
