This was the date in the year 1981, when his mother and veteran actress, Nargis Dutt had taken her last breath. Like every year, Sanjay Dutt left us a bit emotional with his social media post for Nargis Dutt, which was all about the void he has been feeling ever since she passed away.

Nargis Dutt had shared a beautiful bond with her son, Sanjay Dutt and he was one of the most pampered kids of her. Shockingly, Nargis had left for the heavenly abode, just three days before the release of her son, Sanjay's grand debut movie, Rocky. It had left a big void in the heart of B-town's favourite star, Sanjay Dutt.
On May 3, 2021, Sanjay took to his IG handle and shared an unseen picture with Nargis from his childhood days. In the picture, we can see young Sanjay cutely smiling for the camera as his mother, Nargis held him in her arms. Alongside it, Sanjay wrote, "Not a day goes by when I don't miss you Ma!" Last year, on his mother's death anniversary, Sanjay had shared a picture with her and had written, "It’s been 39 years since you left us but I know you’re always by my side. I wish you were here with me, today & every day. Love you and miss you, every day Mom."

In a 2018 interview with India Today, Sanjay had opened up on his mother's illness and how he had to leave ailing Nargis at the hospital to complete the shoot of his film. The actor had shared there was a lot of pressure when his mother had fallen ill. His movie was on the verge of release, and she was in a coma. The situation was grim and he was very young and he couldn't understand why he had to leave his mother and complete the film in that difficult situation.
In the same interview, Sanjay had opened up about the things he had learned from his mother, Nargis, and had stated, "The most important thing is to be a good human being. Everything else comes after that. I learned from both my father and mother. I'm passing it on to my kids. I hope my wife doesn't pamper my children the way my mother did me. My wife tells me if the kids don't hate the parents when they are growing up, there is something wrong with their parenting. I am tough to my children when I want to be tough."
