Sanjay Dutt once revealed in a throwback interview that he wanted his daughter, Trishala to join the FBI and never wanted her to get into acting.
One of the most bankable actors in Bollywood, Sanjay Dutt shares a very warm bond with his daughter, Trishala Dutt. We have often seen the father-daughter share cutesy moments with each other. Trishala is Sanjay Dutt and his first wife, the late Richa Sharma’s daughter. Trishala lives in New York with her maternal grandparents and has been brought up by them after the death of her mother.
Trishala Dutt is a psychotherapist by profession, and she often interacts with her followers on social media. Do you know that Sanjay Dutt wanted his daughter, Trishala to join the FBI? Yes, you read that right. In a throwback interview with Filmfare, Sanjay talked about the same and revealed why he was upset with the aspect of Trishala joining Bollywood. Speaking about the same, he said:
“I’m glad uske sar se acting ka bhoot utar gaya. She has given up on her acting ambitions at least for now. She’s such an intelligent girl, who’s done Forensic Science. So I could never understand why she wanted to give it all up and become an actress. Aur iss industry mein actor banne ke liye (to be in this industry) you need to know the language. So language would’ve been the biggest barrier for her. God only knows where she got this idea from but ab nahin hai. I hope she joins the FBI soon and makes me proud. Her education should be of some use.”

This is not the first time when Sanjay has shown his resentment over Trishala joining Bollywood. Earlier, in an interaction with a leading publication, Sanjay stated that he would have broken Trishala’s leg if she had chosen acting as her career. In his words:
“She has specialised in forensic science... And I think that’s the great thing to do. Even if she wants to join the industry, she has to learn Hindi because American (English) will not work here. It is not easy to be an actor. It looks easy but it is quite difficult. I would have broken her (Trishala’s) legs if she had chosen acting.”

Trishala is quite active on social media and often interacts with people and educates them on mental health. During an ‘Ask me Anything’ session, when one of the users asked her, “How do you feel being Sanjay Dutt’s daughter?” Trishala replied:
“Honestly, it feels normal. He's like any other father. When I'm with him, it feels like I'm with my dad. It doesn't feel any different than what you probably feel when you are with your father.”
After a few years of Sanjay Dutt and Richa Sharma’s wedding, the actress was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and she breathed her last in 1996.
