Did Sanjay Kapoor cheat on Maheep Kapoor while she was pregnant with their second child? She revealed she had to compromise for the sake of their children.
Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, a couple known for their unwavering companionship, are among the most cherished in Tinseltown. For those who may not know, Sanjay and Maheep became one in 1997 and are the proud parents of Shanaya Kapoor and Jahaan Kapoor. On December 9, 2023, they celebrated a remarkable 25 years of togetherness by renewing their wedding vows. Their journey, though not without its challenges, is a testament to their steadfast love, overcoming even severe issues such as infidelity.
It is no secret that Sanjay cheated on Maheep in the early days of their marriage. In one of the episodes of Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives, Maheep confessed to Seema that she was devastated after she got to know that Sanjay cheated on her. So much so that she walked out with Shanaya, but her son was a newborn, so she reconciled. Maheep further added:
“Now you know it Seema. Initially in my marriage, there was an indiscretion that Sanjay had or whatever. I walked out with Shanaya. I stood up for myself but then, I had a newborn baby. Again, as a woman and as a mother, the first priority is my child. I owed my daughter this amazing father, which he is. I owed it to myself. And if I look back and if I broke this s**t up, I would have regretted it all my life. Because when my kids walk into my home, my husband walks into my home, this is their sanctuary. They need to feel peace. And I feel Sanjay gives that to me also.”
Maheep added that as a mother, she prioritised her children as she couldn't snatch their father away from them. However, from Maheep's words, it was clear that she just had a baby when she got to know about Sanjay's infidelity, as she mentioned, 'newborn baby'. So the chances are high that Sanjay cheated on her either when she was pregnant or when she just had her baby.
In an interview with Zoom, Maheep Kapoor recounted the challenging period when she bravely confronted her husband, Sanjay’s affair and reaffirmed her commitment to their marriage. She also shared her perspective on discussing Sanjay’s affair on the show, Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives, and said:
“I feel people just don’t want to step out of the box and look at that person and try to stand in his shoes and understand. Give everybody a break. Everyone is not perfect, and everyone is going to **** up. It’s fine.”
Maheep’s friend and Chunky Panday’s wife, Bhavana Pandey, who was also present during the interview, added that Maheep is comfortable with her choice of sailing through her marriage. Reacting to it, Maheep further talked about the importance of creating a supportive environment for their children and said:
“You can have an opinion about it but don’t be nasty about it. I also have opinions but I am not nasty about it. The kids needs to know you are there, their father is there and that’s it. They need to have that comfort zone and know that this is their safe zone.”
