After months of speculation and rumours doing rounds in the media, Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Shaikh had officially separated from each other last year. However, the two being extremely private people had made sure to not openly talk about it. Recently, Sanjeeda opened up about being a single parent and refusing to co-parent with her ex-husband, Aamir.
For the unversed, Aamir and Sanjeeda had tied the knot on March 2, 2012. However, 2020 came as a big shock for Aamir and Sanjeeda's fans as their marriage reportedly had hit a rough patch. The two had also welcomed a baby girl via surrogacy and were co-parenting her till last year.

Recently, a Hindustan Times report revealed that Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Shaikh are not co-parenting their daughter, Ayra. While they have maintained a dignified silence on their divorce, they are not cordial when it comes to their daughter. A source close to the ex-couple has revealed that Sanjeeda is not allowing Aamir to meet her daughter for the past nine months. The source said:
"Sanjeeda is not letting Aamir meet their daughter. It’s been almost nine months since he met her. Also, he seems to have given up pursuing it as well. He doesn’t really wish to fight on this anymore."
After which, Sanjeeda confirmed being a single parent. The actress simply refused to talk about her personal life, but put out the message across the media that she is indeed raising her daughter on her own. In an interaction with the Hindustan Times, Sanjeeda said:
"I think people are more interested to know what’s happening in my professional life than my personal life. So let’s keep the personal life private only. As for the rumours, I’d just say, as a single parent, I’m doing everything to give my daughter the best of the best. To bring her up in a positive environment is my utmost priority, and I chose that."
On the other, Aamir Ali has refused to talk about his personal life or give comments on Sanjeeda's stance. It is also reported that Aamir is not invited to his daughter, Ayra's third birthday, and Sanjeeda will be celebrating it alone with her family.
